Re: Long Weekends
We've done San Juan Island on a shore diving weekend. The shore diving isn't as good as boat diving but you still get a taste of what the San Juans have to offer. For a place to stay; If your with a group, there are some cool cabins at the Roach Harbour Resort. We've also stayed at the Earth Box whi...

Re: best shore site within a 2 Hr drive of Edmonds??
Well, for this Sunday, from late morning to midafternoon is a HUGE ebb, so any current-sensitive site is going to be pretty much out. Keystone's nasty on big ebbs, although you can dive it on moderate floods. Titlow is current-sensitive, as is Day Island Wall. In fact, most of the sites that are re...

Not installed yet. Waiting to hear from Jim Trask if the final permits are in. I guess he thought he was ready to roll, and then discovered there was one more permit or something like that. I'm waiting....patiently.....sort of.... - Janna Thanks Janna! BTW... What's the status of the NW Dive Club B...

Does anyone know the status of the mooring buoys? We're heading out to dive the Possession Point Ferry this weekend and were wondering in the bouy was installed yet.
Thanks!

Re: Dive sites near Cabo San Lucas?
I've dove in Cabo but it's not really a great dive destination. Most of the diving is a 5 minute boat ride out of the harbor and you dive on the pinnacles by the arch. One really cool dive we did was through the channel between the arch and the sea lion colony. The dive goes like this... The boat dr...

Cozumel, Playa, and the Myan Riviera is a great place for diving as well as just plain old vacationing. Cindy and I went in January and had an awesome time. Here are some random thoughts and suggestions .... Cozumel -There are three types of dive operators in Coz; Cattleboats, six paxs (six person) ...

I had my drysuit zipper replaced at Superior Drysuit repair and they turned it around in 3 days over the Labor Day weekend (10 days including shipping). They did a top noch job and I would definately recommend them. http://www.drysuitrepair.com/ Initially I was going to send my drysuit to KME but re...

Re: looking into a drysuit.....(link inside)
If the seals and zipper are in good shape that's a really good deal. My girlfriend Cindy dives a Pro D2 and it's been a great suit with no problems whatsoever. The D6 is the least expensive of Bare's Pro series drysuit and made of 6mm thick neoprine which will be really warm, but also really bouyant...

I haven't found a website that contains all of the corrections for specific divesites. I typically use Mishi Carters book "Current and Tide Tables for Dive Planning" in combination with Northwest Shore Dives.

Re: Where to get a Sitech dump valve?
Yep, looks like you will need to replace that zipper. You can do as Jake suggested and glue it up but thats only a temporary fix. You can also can close the zipper and put a patch up to where the leak is. You wont be able to open the last two inches of the zipper but it'll last a little bit longer ...

That's what I call customer service! Hoever I just put a tank in my neck seal and inflated my suit and found that my problem is a wear spot on my zipper about two inches from the top. :banghead: Now I have to see if there's any way I can patch it. I have my doubts though :shootself: If nothing else...

Re: edmonds water park
As LCF said you really need to be aware of the currents at Edmonds. I've seen many dives struggling to get out of the ferry lane. For planning the dive use the Admiralty Inlet current station as a guide. The slack adjustments for the underwater park are +44 minutes for slack before a flood and +13 m...

Just a thought but If you can stretch the budget a little bit... My girlfriend Cindy and I are planning a vacation to Fiji in November. Wow, wow a vacation with no drinking or diving! Thats rough. :mmmbeer: I think you would probably be bored out of your mind in Bonaire. It's a neat little island but there's not much to do outside of diving. You may be able to snorkel and check out the shallows but most of the reef starts out at 30f...

I'd stay away from the hard cases and stick with duffel bag. The hard cases add alot of unnessary weight and are a PITA to haul around airports etc.

Did you buddy up with Kurt since there weren't any other divers on the boat? I have used the NakNek out of Anacortes maybe 4 times in the past 2 yrs and honestly I think taking the ferry to Friday Harbor is probably worth it. Its unrealistic for them to come over to Anacortes, back to someplace ste...
