The Bottle Thread
Re: The Bottle Thread
I cant get over the last line..
Looks like it might have been in a fire or something.
And I am fairly certain that's what mermaids call a "snarfblatt".

The latest find in Port Townsend...
A miniature whiskey bottle, about 4" high. Who knew they had little airline booze bottles before there were even commercial airlines? That's planning ahead.

Re: The Bottle Thread
That's a cool find Glenn.
Re: The Bottle Thread
Tom Nic already found, and posted about an almost identical bottle, but I found this guy at Alki Junkyard last night:

The interesting thing is that I guess the bottler in Fresno and the one in Seattle were both using the same bottle design, but neither one was using the official coke bottle design.

Re: The Bottle Thread
I found this really cool blob near Owens beach. There are no markings on it and what's really interesting is it contains a glass and metal/rubber stopper that is inside and won't come out. Anyone have an idea on the history of this bottle?
Re: The Bottle Thread
Found the embossed version of my previous post of another blob top. Found these and many other cool bottles on a solo night dive tonight in Tacoma.

We've found a few of these WWII era Navy Medical bottle in the channel, but I was surprised to find this one off the beach at Totem Park.

Wow, so much cool stuff still being found. I love Cetacea's blob-top bottles [envy].
Found this today, an 1880's-90's medicine bottle in great shape. Just sitting there. And the usual assortment of clay pigeons.

Found this bottle on Day Island North Wall today. It's a turquoise blue with a weird round bottom and the mouth looks like it was an after thought and put on by hand. It has a stamp on the bottom :

Marlboro Bottle
Found in Lake Washington on Tuesday
I knew Marlboro had brown beer bottles in the 40's but I cant find a lick of info on this guy. It stands about 11.5" and 3" wide at the base

Recent finds off of Port Townsend... A stoneware beer bottle and ketchup bottle, circa 1870-1890's. And -- this one was tricky to identify! -- a Chinese stoneware ginger jar, ~9 cm high, c. 1800's?
