Met up with Bric today and we decided to try something different on the site that we normally go deep on we stayed fairly shallow. On the one we normally go shallow, we went deep. We had amazing results! We found a big variety of nudis in the shallows.
Found this strange looking fish that I haven't seen before. Spotted and has 2 antennas coming out of his head with real spiny fins coming out of his sides. Picture is a little blurry, but had to use my point and shoot as I left my Nikon on all night and ran the battery down
As for the deep dive, we actually came upon a stubby squid, first I've ever seen and especially on the hood canal side. I knew they were here as I find their eggs all the time. I got a few descent pictures, but with the point and shot taking so long to cycle wasn't possible to get one of him swimming and changing colors. I'm sure Bric's will great!
The water is getting a little murky down to about 40' but after that was about 30- 40' vis..... and seems to be cold and was a cold boat ride.

Wow! I'm pretty sure what you found was a threadfin sculpin. I have never seen one!

Longspine Combfish. I just saw my first one at Sund Rock on a deep dive there a couple of days ago.

I checked out both fish suggested and it is the Longspine Combfish. Thanks for the help, I knew someone would have the answer!

Did you see a bunch of them?
We have seen them in fairly large numbers on the flats about 110 fsw.
Good Diving,
