Re: Kopachuck - anyone ever dove it or have a map for it ?

That’s kinda what I thought. I wouldn’t even consider it except A: we’ll just happen to be there for another reason and B: the map actually says “underwater park” 🤪. I may just let it live in my imagination that there could be a Japanese mini sub laying there undiscovered. There’s also C: Anytime I’...

Kopachuck - anyone ever dove it or have a map for it ?

We are staying in gig harbor soon. There’s a park called Kopachuck that’s nearby- on the map and other descriptions online, it says there’s an underwater park there with the same name. I wondered if anyone here has dove or heard of someone diving there and what it’s like. I’d like to find a dive map...

Yes, that’s the one and only Steve Z. We’ve known each other awhile. I thought that pic of them looked like an album cover for a Finnish heavy metal band 🎅🏻. Both that shot and the Golden were taken at Sund

Long time since last posting

Just a quick post with a few pics from a compilation of recent dives; mostly from the canal, a few from the sound. The holidays had a lot of family visits so diving has been on hiatus for most of that but it’s time to get back out there and check out some different sites. My underwater camera work i...

Re: Diamond Knot

Thanks all for the tips- esp josh- that info is good. It's looking like a deco dive for only the first dive. Maybe a 125 (28%) with a 50% sling- maybe an aux air source. But rec dives after that. I'm really looking forward to diving with some really great guys on a ship I've always wanted to dive. I...

Diamond Knot

Finally diving the knot. Any words of advice from those that have been there? Debating if I want to do a little deco or not. Looking at doing dubs or not. Also debating if I want to dive nitrox (32 - maybe 28) or not. Maybe just air....like most of my dives. Interesting things to see or watch out fo...

Whites Drysuit For Sale

Whites drysuit in great shape- ready to scuba dive the northwest. If you dive in a wetsuit here, this could really help you enjoy it more- stay warmer and more comfy between dives. Size is approx med- would fit someone about 5'9" and 175lb-- boots are something like a size 9. If it sounds close...

Day Island Wall and Sunrise Beach on the Ocean Quest

Great set of dives on Day Island Wall and Sunrise Beach yesterday with the good folks on the Ocean Quest (George and Andrea) I was lucky to be diving with the Wed crowd from Vancouver/PDX area (Steve, John, Georgia, Connie, Jean) so it was a great group too with experienced divers. At Day Island, th...

Re: E-PL1 Users Group

A quick question- I didn't see it in the previous posts so sorry if I overlooked it: Has anyone tried this macro adaptor with the EPL? I'm interested in it but not sure if it will fit in the housing. http://www.olympus.com.au/Products/CompactSystem-Cameras/PEN-Lenses/MCON-P01-Macro-Converter.aspx If...

Photo Printing Recommendations

Folks- a question. Have you used a photo printing place to make large (or small I suppose) prints of your underwater pix? If so, what would you recommend for best quality/price? I have some images taken on a trip we were on that I would like to make pretty large to frame and hang in the house. Many ...

Re: Undergarment questions

I used to use a USIA garment but it was pretty thin. I got ahold of a Bare 200 and its overkill for the waters here IMHO but I like it- plenty warm. It is a lot thicker/stiffer tho so restricts movement a bit. I used to layer the USIA with warm stuff but be aware, it will change your buoyancy charac...

Redondo 8-27

I know, it's old...sorry for the lateness Jeff Pack and I did 2 dives this day- his 100th (meh) and his 101st (yea!) 100 was a trip to the bottle field- it was so-so but I managed to get him with a shot of his 100 dive...which was cool! 101- really nice 67 minute long troll along the lower line. Re: Where to in Maui?

TONS of really good shore dives- just do them early before the trades kick up and make it rough. Ed Robinson and Mike Severns if you want to go out to the crater or dives far from shore. We used Maui Dreams based on reccomendations from friends and they were really awesome. My personal fave dives we...

I've seen twice now merganser ducks diving pretty deep at Clear Lake. One time, they were quite close to me- it was very cool to see their bright colors as they tried to catch a snack.

Re: NW Dive Sites; Better or Worse over time?

Bassman- I have come to believe that we just see whatever the scuba gods have in mind for us that day. When I saw the two Goliath groupers on the Spiegel Grove in Florida- I was floored and just looked at my dive buddy (wife-Dea) in awe. The lost blue hole in the Bahamas treated us to hundreds of sh...
