Re: Cove 2 Shower?
Just talked to Kathy Whitman (Parks). She reinforced that this mandate came from the Feds. Parks also tried to argue that it didn't make a lot of sense but was shut down. Seems there is no compromise on this issue. The man who is potentially responsible for coming up with a workable solution is on a...

PB4Y Bomber Line is Still Great
Guillaume, Casey and I dove the PB4Y yesterday and the line is still awesome. Viz was decent on the wreck and deco was smooth on the way back. A perfect after work relaxing deco dive. Thanks again to Scott Christopher and Erik Foreman for all their work putting that in! (I know other folks helped to...

I know Jeremiah with Ocean Edge Outfitters (out here for the Tacoma Dive Show) is planning to join you guys tonight. He's diving with Doug Marcoux. Just so you know to lookout for him. He'll be on a rEvo.

Re: FS: Shearwater Predator OC/CC Standalone
I'm selling my second Predator (I now have 2 Petrels). This one also has a perfect screen, but it does have some minor scratches on the casing.
Price is $750, includes shipping within the US (or local Seattle pickup).
It is unlocked for VPM.

Re: The deep boat float at Mukilteo
Feel free to replace the yellow buoy with yours. I'll help if I'm free that day. We wired in the shackles so it will require pliers to remove the wire prior to unshackling the chain. Chain from buoy is shackled to itself at roughly 10' and then a few feet further down shackled to the old chain below...

Re: New buoy at Mukilteo
Just pinged a dive instructor teaching a class today at Mukilteo, he sees it floating out there.
Maybe the +5 feet we added from yesterday's high isn't quite enough for super high tide (we shackled below the old float remnants).
Love feedback if it needs to be further slackened.
Cheers,
John

Re: New buoy at Mukilteo
Well that's odd. We didn't find / recreate the dive flag buoy. We used a yellow A5 buoy like at cove 2. The chain running from that buoy is shackled to the chain from the underwater float (with slack for high tide of course).
No buoy?

Re: Shearwater Petrel
I just got my first shipment of Shearwater Petrels. They are even more gorgeous in person ! I was really surprised at how much smaller they are than I thought (even having seen the photos online). Lighter too. The screen is VERY clear. Can't wait to dive one of them! I'll post GoPro video when I get...

Re: anyone want to go crabbing tomorrow evening or saturday
How is crabbing down there from shore? Pretty reliable?
I typically go up north to Mukilteo (meeting friends there Saturday actually).
But I was thinking Sunday or Monday might try Tacoma?
Thanks,
John

Cool! White Arrow makes one for cave diving (simpler). I've not used it, but it looked cool.

We just saw a quillfish Sunday at Cove 2. Viz was insanely good and it was free swimming below us while we were doing a SAC swim. We swam in a circle for a bit to watch. Good times!
