Rick I'm guessing you are reading posts from the same person I am on FB. Sounds like they went in a the T-dock, survivor surfaced at the lighthouse park. That a long ways.

I will, (and have!) done the T-dock at just about any current, but honestly today's exchange would have me thinking about the lake, and definitely keep me off the lighthouse side even with a scooter. Not seeing any updates other than they continue to search.....

No good. I agree, not a good time for the lighthouse park. I'm hoping the missing diver is hiking back along the railroad tracks.....

I would check with 8 diving. They appear to be a sitech dealer, and have a good reputation for suit repair.

I like it. You actually don't need much pressure to find leaks. My current favorite method is taping an old dry glove that I cut a hole in to the end of a shopvac hose set to blow. Attach dryglove and hit the switch, suit is full in seconds!

Either of those should be plenty bright enough. For Puget Sound I like a tight beam for signaling with a lot of spill out from the hotspot, both of those have a reflector, so they should be decent. I think I'd go with the DGX one if it was me, tighter beam, more battery options (18650's are in basic...

Throwing the valve in an ultrasonic cleaner with some white vinegar is your best bet to loosen that up. I would think your LDS could do that for you at the next VIP since they typically service the valves at VIP.

Thanks Jess, my son wound up have a short day of school, so I took him out for a local dive. Not much to see but he got to scooter a bit! Maybe I'll be able to dive with you guys another day!

It looks like I'm going to have Thursday off, anybody want to dive Hood Canal or the south sound somewhere?

So, we're supposed to take a proven simple mechanical system, which has a manual backup, and replace that with electronically controlled system with no backup, no way to disconnect it while diving? I'll stick with my BCD thanks.

That's rough. Take comfort in knowing that you all gave him the best chance he could have had.

+ 1 for a backplate and wing. You gain 6lbs of weight for free on the plate, and lose all the excess buoyancy that a lot of vest BC's tend to have. A steel 80 is going to be about the same size as the al50, and allow her to shave off 5lbs or so of lead. (plus more air!) I'll also add that the weight...

Hi Leslie, No problem asking for help here! Gasworks is unfortunately on Lake Union, not Lake Washington, and diving there is by special permit as far as I know.
