Re: Hints for using DS51 with Canon G10?
I've been shooting underwater with a G10 for a few years now, but I use a pair of S&S YS90 strobes that have a bit more control (compared to the DS51) as to how much flash is produced. Positioning of the strobe(s) can make a huge difference. Pointing the stobe directly at your subject may not be...

I've never heard of that brand of regulator before. Can you get them serviced near you? What's your budget for a reg set? The Seaira Trimetal regs were made by IDI (International Divers Inc) who ceased operations in 2003: http://www.scuba.com/resources/repair/idi.asp . They received a very favorabl...

First dive, 5-10' above 30fsw, 10-15' at depth. At 80fsw we still had ambient light filtering through.
Second dive, the 8 of us mucked it up a bit.

Evergreen commonly teaches their OW classes in drysuits. I expect they have lots of experience answering basic questions while exercising extreme patience. I believe they use Bare trilam suits.

Nice shots, Jesse! I like the self portrait too. I see a lot of similarity between the "bug" and the limpet. Really zoomed in on the pic, and it looks like the shape of the soft underbody of the bug matches the shape of the soft body of the limpet. The bug also seems to have the little bum...

Salt Creek, a hazy 20' from the surface to 39fsw (our max depth on both dives).
Lake Crescent, easily 50'+. The water is cold at 46 degrees with no thermocline down to 90ffw.

The suit was inside out but the dump valve was installed as normal? Yup. The only thing I did was close the dump valve - otherwise it was not removed from the suit. Then the suit was turned inside out. How did you evaluate "full"? Your hose is running way more than 7psi. Very carefully. I...

Re: Leaking TiZip
Also, was the exhaust valve plugged (or not inverted) when you did that? It's quite possible to fill with water past 7psi if you plugged the dump valve. So far, I haven't had a problem with the glue (fingers crossed). When I filled the suit with water In my driveway I just left the dump valve attac...
