Re: Dive Rite canister light "PRICE DROP"

Without touching the LED vs HID debate - This DR HID head can be upgraded from 10w/500lm to 14w/1000lm using an upgraded Solarc NGX ballast and bulb. The ballast is more efficient than the old 10w ballast, and can be wired at either 9w (500lm) or 14w(1000lm). Welch Allyn offered this line, but sold ...

I have 4 hp100 singles right now. All right hand valves. 2x 3/4" necked Worthington's 2x 7/8" necked PSTs. I broke apart some AL80 doubles this past summer and have 2x left handed 3/4" valves. I will swap those onto the Worthington's to have 2 left hand 100s and 2 right hand PST 100s...

Re: Salt Creek

For what it's worth - we did this trip last year, during the last weekend in May. Two dives at Salt Creek, followed by one at Crescent (perfect for rinsing off the gear) on the south side of the lake at one of the turnouts right before the stone bridge - there's a beautiful, deep rock wall right the...

Tacoma Pipeline 1/14/12

Headed out to the Tacoma Pipeline with buddy Dane for a night dive yesterday. Geared up and hit the water about 7pm, and were immediately surrounded by a huge school of herring during our surface swim. It was such a cool experience that we just hung out at the surface for a few minutes, enjoying the...

What did you see that says "blacktip"?

Thanks!

Re: Leaving Tanks In The Car Overnight???

We were just discussing this topic at the shop the other day, in a way: It seems that a couple divers headed out very early one recent Saturday morning, following a night of below freezing temperatures. The dive site was Les Davis, which was very local for both of them and didn't require much of a d...

Re: The ongoing 'Dond Lumpie and Friends Show ...

Had 2 nice dives with Scubie Doo on 12/23. First dive down the line to the bottle field, then crossed in front of the fishing pier and explored the south side of the boat ramp. It was the first time we'd dove that part of the site, and definitely had a good time. Found at least 4 lumpies, and half a...

The 64 million dollar question is where should I put it?? I am not too keen on advertising that I have expensive gear in the back of my truck. Where are other people putting theirs? Re: Dry Gloves

I use the SiTech rings on my Seasoft suit with neoprene seals - nice and dry, no problems. However, they do become a bit permanently compressed/deformed by the rings, and I worry that they would not keep me dry if I was to go back to wet gloves.

Redondo Sun 10/30 Afternoon/Evening

Would like to get out to Redondo this afternoon/evening. Up for two dives, the second one being after dark in the eelgrass, hunting lumpies. Willing to go to the bottle field or shallow reef on the first dive, depending on the experience of those diving.

Anyone interested?

Re: Harper's Ferry?

We dove Harper's this past Sunday evening, and didn't have much problem using the rocks to get in/out. However, there is also a set of stairs 100+ yards to the north (I think there's a bench nearby), if you don't mind the walk. Scout it out before gearing up. Vis was a murky 10-15' with pockets of v...

The article goes on to explain that the whale was found dead in the water, offshore, not inshore. #-o 'It is sad. It was in shallow water of about 1.2m (4ft) to 1.6m (5.25ft), making contact with the bottom,'' Mr Gibson said. ''This was about 800m offshore . ''When it gets in that situation it rolls...
