I know Escher is known mainly for his woodcuts of mind bending scenes but this one of dolphins swimming in front of a ship is one of my favorites... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolphins_(M._C._Escher)

Re: Recreational chamber ride?

I did a chamber dive to 120 feet (I think) as part of my NOAA diving class at Sand Point some 20 years ago. Like some one else mentioned it got hot and steamy then cooled off. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is our voices changed once we were at depth, then since we all started to sound lik...

Just in case anybody cares, it was a 2003 Bauer compressor rated at 6000psig max and went for $5650 and would have looked absolutely awesome in my garage

My favorite hand signal that was never taught to me in dive class has 3 steps.
1) Point to your eye
2) point to your left nipple
3) point to your a$$

Translation: I left it behind!

Silicone? I haven't done much diving lately but back in the day we were told to avoid using silicone products since they can affect gluing new seals on. Has this and the glues changed?

Re: MATE ROV Competition this weekend!!

Awesome work for high school kids. I wish we could have done more ROV work when I worked with NOAA. My 7 year old was all over the video with "helpful hints" like using a big crane arm on the ROV. lol I am thoroughly impressed. Those tasks are a lot harder to do than most people realize an...

Re: B.C Fix

So I was trained to dive using just my suit and a BC backpack. I loved it then and still love it. My one upgrade has been to add a set of the old style wings that attach to the backpack. I wouldn't use them except for surface swims, but it is nice to have a source of redundant bouyancy set up for al...

Re: A life altering dive

Holy C##p! I have done that dive and it was an easy one, pretty much drop into the water, sit on the bottom and watch the scenery, plus I have spent an evening with someone IN that ER (for a non dive issue), which is tiny, in a tiny hospital. I am glad to hear that things have turned out so well giv...

Years ago when I was going through the oceanography tech program at Shoreline Community College we did a study of the south sound area and we made a 4 foot by 8 foot 3D scale model of that part of the sound (a full sheet of plywood was the base underneath it all)doing something similar but then we u...

I am not quite sure about this sentence...

I feel like I should be asking one of two things...

1) How many husbands do you have?
or
2) Is he getting older while you are not?
