I'm only about a mile away from there. Which would be super convenient for me!

Lighthouse Dive Center Tacoma?

I'm getting back into diving, after a loooong hiatus. I noticed that the Lighthouse in downtown Tacoma was closed. Come to find out that they moved just down the street from me, in University Place. Anybody have any experience there? Thoughts? It would be super convenient for me, if they are a decen...

You can stay in one spot, any spot and stare at the bottom. If you stay there long enough something is going to move!

Re: Dive flag at Redondo

We saw something today at Redondo that scared the dickens out of both of us. A guy with a small power boat ran all the way up onto the beach on the north side of Salty's to do something . . . sat there, and then pushed off and left. All the while there were divers on the surface near the pilings, a...

Re: Real American craftsmanship!

I'm an over and under guy myself but the classic double is a pretty gun. They do have some awesome craftsmanship. But their prices are pretty much in the stratosphere. $14,000. for the basic model? Ouch! Yes, very much over the top. But i become "price blind" when i look at things like th...

Re: What a ride! or why we don't dive Northern Oregon

Columbia river bar...Not a fan!! I worked for a tug and barge outfit that ran WWII era YTB's that were cobbled together and scared into running. As we would be coming through that any number of the shortcut's the owner had taken would be flashing through my mind. Because you knew if just one of them...

Don't blame him. If as presented that was a cruel thing to do to a car salesman of unknown health. Heart attack anyone? All for laughs at his expense. The whole time I was watching that I was thinking to myself "That poor fat bastard is going to have a heart attack any minute now" I'm thi...

Re: Vintage 50's Puget Sound Scuba Vid

[quote="sitkadiver"] I honestly don't know how those people in the 50's and 60's took the cold. As much as like double hose regs and such, they're thermal protection was seriously lacking. I do appreciate my modern drysuit. I wondered the same thing. I also wondered how hard it must of bee...

Vintage 50's Puget Sound Scuba Vid

Came across this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48Eqd_tA0V8 Very cool vid. It looks as though the dive community was a little different back then. WARNING: Some images may be a little disturbing. But it is a look back on our Puget Sound history.

Re: Dive this weekend

I'm in the process of removing my boots and installing new neoprene socks on my drysuit. The tubes of aquaseal is supposed to arrive today. Can you believe there wasn't a dive shop in all of Portland that had an 8 oz tube of aquaseal! So hopefully I can finish up my drysuit modification. This way I...
