Re: Custom Dive Boat Ladder......Help

with heavy doubles or a breather, you'll appreciate less vertical Gutholmj, unlike a shore-based ladder, a 15 degree angled dive ladder seems a bit much to me.... Thanks for the perspectives. I have a couple of weeks before I take the boat in to have the work done so I'm going to try a couple diffe...

Re: Cockerells On the Hood

You are great at finding those cockerels. Did you say one was at a depth that I might actually see it? Very cool photos of the Grunt Sculpin and Warbonnet. I love seeing the various critters that hang out in the sponges. One of the many reasons I consider Flagpole my favorite place on earth.

Crabbing and Crabbing

At least down here in Tumwater, Saturday was a raging wind storm. It was bad enough that I got a message from work that the power was out and we were on generators. The forecast for Sunday looked hopeful though so Kim and I planned to go out to Hood Canal. We were going to try and meet up with Deep ...

Re: Custom Dive Boat Ladder......Help

I'm going to get a swim platform and ladder made for our new boat. I wanted to have a way to make sure I got the placement and height the way I wanted it so I put together a prototype with some scraps. We gave it a try last weekend and I think I have everything just right but I'm not sure about the ...

Re: DIW and Redondo - 10/25 - First Dive with a Snoot

Great job taking advantage of the snoot on the first nudibranch shot. It really transforms the image. Do you have a focus light on the strobe going through the snoot for aiming? I thought I might have recognized you in the parking lot but I'm so horrible with putting together names and faces.

Redondo - A long time coming

It seems like it's been forever since I'de been to Redondo. At least since I've been there and actually did a dive. The last time Kim and I gave it a try, the vis was so bad we packed up and drove home. Tonight was much, much, better. The visibility was fabulous, perhaps 30 feet. We mucked around in...

I think that's a horned shrimp. The shells are pretty cool.

In the upper 15 few that I experienced, vis was good, probably 15-20, but a bit milky. Here's a topside shot. it was a really beautiful day.

A nice little dip on the shore at Flagpole

Kim and I had a nice little dive off the shore at Flagpole this morning. There was a good cover of low clouds when we arrived at 9:00 that made gearing up nice and comfortable. By the time we made it to the water the sun was shining strong. We never ventured more than a couple hundred feet from the ...

The Dond continues to deliver Lumpies and Friends. I hit the south side around 11 AM on a low, low, low tide. I was pleasantly surprised to find a tiny lumpie. :)

The land of the pricklebacks

I think I might sound like I'm giving a confessional but, I haven's been diving in at least 4 months. As a last minute thing I decided I really needed to go out for a dive so I headed up to Steilacoom. Despite being the closest dive site to home, I've only been to twice out of my 300 and whatever di...
