Re: Sund Rock - Snoot There it is!

Ahh, The Snoot. I knew there was a technical term for that. I have a buddy that used to be way into [underwater] photography and he liked to call them "super soakers" (light soaking.) He would backlight and/or side light with one or two on remote strobes. http://www.kennethkopp.com/#/galle...

Re: Hello! Started my dives in Pacific with losing my GoPro

Hi Den,

I'm Dennis. People call me Dennis or shark bait. Sorry you lost your camera :( I would ask Marination. I tried to turn something in there but they said they did not operate a lost and found. I posted here and on craigslist.

Re: Just bought a drysuit at the UWS Divers Fair.

For the record, I hate both fin keepers and rock boots. The DUI tri-lam, neoprene, or latex socks never really seem to be comfortable (folds), seem to develop leaks pretty fast, and then you have remember to bring your diving shoes. A friend mentioned that he only gets about 50 dives out of his Chuc...

FS: USIA Drysuit $500

Yay, garage cleaning! My room mate was thinking he was going to move this to storage for another 5 years before throwing it out. 10 year old suit needs to go. Has some local dives on it but it's in great condition except for latex neck and wrist seals. USIA Large/Long. Boots: US 12. Known to fit 6'2...

Re: Hyperbaric trip experience/getting bent call for insight

Forgot to mention that people do bubble differently and supposedly some decent percentage of the population has a PFO. I talked to my doctor and because I was getting into tec diving and instruction, they did an ultrasonic bubble study and determined I was PFO free. I'm not a doctor but hopefully it...

Re: Hyperbaric trip experience/getting bent call for insight

I would agree. Probably just bad luck. No problem tho, sounds like treatment was 100% success and paid for. I am old and I have dived much more aggressively than this for serval years. So you showed the basic dive log over the days but after which dive did the symptoms start? You said "second d...

Re: Philippines Diving - Dumaguete or Puerta Galera?

I stayed at Atlantis Dumaguette for something like 9 days of diving, last October. It was pretty good. I was a little let down by near shore conditions. I have high expectations. Some of the reefs were a little boring, lacking in structure and coral but we saw lots of cool critters. However, the nea...

Congrats! I was super-psyched with my brand new first drysuit!! Yes, being warm underwater pays a price at the surface on a hot day.

Re: Scooters. What do you have? Your likes and dislikes?

P.S. I noticed Edd S's SM rig the standard crotch strap goes something like: right-rear hip, to front loop near the belt buckle, then back to the left-rear hip. It's like a built-in nut saver.

The tow harness is very nice to the nuts. I'm just generally too lazy to put it on and/or forget to pack it in my kit.

They're not all slow but those motor brushes seem to scorch pretty easily.

Supposedly you can fly the Genesis batteries... any idea if that is still true? Oh you won't fly a scooter :) It's true that it's a huge PITA to fly a scooter but I've done it, just not a 14 lb li-ion.

I agree that given the posts so far, just close your eyes and buy the used Magnus. Ramblings: - I can't stand the loud noise the Piranha makes but they are working on it. - I have Genesis envy. - I also have Bonex envy. Super quiet and fast. $10k - Laura makes one very important point: don't scoot w...
