Re: Any woodworkers out there??

That should work but you will probably want to remove as much material as you can with a straight walled router bit or table saw before "hogging" out that much wood with that big 3/4" bit. This is especially true with your super hard cocobola. I can envision lots of smoking! :) Anothe...

Re: gear storage/drying?

I'm not storing it in the car, at this moment it's draped over various structures of my living room/kitchen. i bought a fan at BigBoxMart today, and have that pointed at it on low speed, with my freshly laundered drysuit underwear on a hanger in the back doorway to annoy my neighbors (they've alrea...

Re: gear storage/drying?

... but I feel guilty abandoning this stuff, and just leaving it in the trunk of my car. Please help... it's gazing at me reproachfully! Your not storing it in the trunk of your car I hope? Trunk temps can easily reach 20 or more hotter than outside air temperatures. Hot temps and wet, salty ...

Re: Any woodworkers out there??

Oh man, your using Cocobolo? That's stuff is as gorgeous as it is spendy! Router table or table saw would work but I would go further and suggest you use a feather board to keep the material pushed up against the fence. Also, if you run your stock through the opposite direction every-other pass (ass...

Re: Underwater Camera Insurance

A long time ago when I shot a lot with expensive film SLR's, I had an "inland marine" policy on my equipment through my homeowners policy. It was dirt cheap at the time, not sure what it would be now or what it would cover but I would start with your own local agent and see what's available.

Re: scuba death in Newport OR

This really is sad news. I was with another group of divers diving off shore this same day out of Newport. I feel very bad for the family.
Here's a link I found.

Re: DAN might not be what you think it is...

Huge bummer Matt. Fighting with an insurance company can be almost as painful as the incident! As a new diver considering DAN, I'm now having second thoughts. While I feel Mattley's aggravation... and I'm sorry his drysuit won't get paid for... but diving without DAN insurance makes little sense. M...

Oh geeze - makes me cringe just watching! Amazing technology, do you suppose they will come out with one that will work on chisels? :smt064

In my case most injuries could be avoided if the nut at the end of the tool were tightened. ;)

Welcome scubapug - sounds like you and your BF have a lot of potential dive buddies to choose from - maybe we need to pick a day with decent exchanges and meet in Newport? :grouphug: Aaron, I think I met you and a tall (and cold) dive buddy on a Bandito charter/Whites Fusion demo a couple weeks ago?...

Re: what are your favorite country music classics?

Hmmmm, I'm still trying to grasp the concept of having words like "favorite" and "country music" both in the same sentence. :) Ok, I'm probably a bit weird but while I don't like country music I do like bluegrass. Does that count? If so Alison Krauss would take every slot.
