Re: HELLO!
Hi Dan and welcome! If you can get off shore Oregon under the right conditions there is some great diving to be had - emphasis on "right conditions". To put it bluntly we don't have very good shore diving but here's a link to most of what's available. http://www.shorediving.com/Earth/USA_W...

Re: Mexico to Eugene
You have a great local shop, Eugene Skin Divers, to do business with. Along with the cool waters of the PNW they also book trips to Mexico!

Re: Paging Pickup Truck Owners!
I just bought a Tacoma too and bought the weathertech (sp?) liner for it. It has about a 2 inch lip all around the outside (except the tailgate) to contain any water brought in. It fits the Tacoma impeccably but is only available for the long bed.

Re: Oregon Dive Sites
but why does WA get all the man made scuba areas? Are there really no good places to get people to work on? Is it a money issue? I am willing to dedicate some time. I am actually not that far from the sound, when you consider that I am about 2 hours from the water right now. Hi Rena, Our lucky dive...

They usually have hot water for warming your gloves and hood between dives and did you know they feed you too? Mmmmm, hot chicken noodle soup, cheesy breadsticks, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies - that charter boat diving is pretty rough duty!

Re: Cheap/DIY Lights and tray for GoPro Hero3
FWIW, the white plastic (UHMW?) cutting boards are a wonderful material and cheap too. It's a very easy to drill, cut, sand, plane, into what ever shape you need. I make small, modified goodman type handles for lights and GoPro cameras where the plastic rides on the back of your hand, with bungies u...

This is a great thread ... seeing all these wonderful pictures just makes me smile ... ... Bob (Grateful Diver) I couldn't agree more! One of the best threads of the year! My daughter started diving this year so naturally one of my favorite shots is one of her on our first Daughter/Dad dive. erin.j...

Re: Scuba Garage overhaul
I have a dunk tank outside and a locker in my garage. Because my wife and I both do woodworking in the garage I built the locker with a box fan that pulls filtered air through the locker to keep things clean and dry out the gear quickly. It works well but with my daughter now diving it's getting a b...

Re: Any dives planned in the Portland / Oregon city area?
Oregon Scuba Club has a dive this weekend at Netarts Bay - it's a shallow, tide sensitive dive but it's a dive and you have the chance of seeing monkey face prickleback. You may want to contact someone on this post.

Re: Faber vs XS Scuba HP100's
Had the same discussion today while looking at some new fabers sitting next to an xs scuba. For one it appears that the rounded shoulders and bottom of the fabers are perhaps more elongated and pointed. The other is the neck of the faber cylinder is definitely longer making the top of the tank valve...

Re: Yes, Virginia, there is diving in Oregon
This was posted in the Oregon section awhile back http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=19316 and somewhere there was a link posted with an excellent article on how the reefs were formed - basically a volcanic lava flow running north to south. But yeah, there are cliffs, walls, canyons ...

Which bp/w for a woman?
I'm looking to purchase a bp/w for my daughter who's about 5'5" and I'm wondering if I need to buy one of the shorter plates for her or if a standard will work? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a wing? 99% of her diving will be done with my hp 100's. I would guess this topic has alre...

Just kidding of course. There are several of us from Salem that dive that area fairly regular - stay in touch and maybe we can plan something. Welcome!

OUCH! Brutal tides this weekend - You'd be diving a hard outgoing tide at Barview, especially diving that PM. You should probably head north to the canal or sound.

Bob, have you tried "Windows Live Movie Maker"? It comes with new computers with windows 7. I'm shooting a canon g12, using a can light with diffuser, and put this combination of stills and video clips together using only movie maker. It's been a great start for me. The DVD I burned played...

Decorated Warbonnet, where?
Hey all,
I'm planning on diving Hood Canal this Sunday and the Lower (Tacoma/So Seattle area) sound Monday. Any suggestions on sites where I might photo a warbonnet?
