Re: Keystone Currents Recommendation

Thanks so much! I appreciate not making the 2-hour drive just to get knocked out of the water by current. If we go, I'll let you know how it went!

Keystone Currents Recommendation

Hello All, The freezing rain tonight has my dive buddy chickening out for tomorrow's dive. I'm trying to plan an alternate day for Keystone, and noticed that the PNWdiving.com rates December 27th as an excellent dive with a current of -2.5 to +0.6. It surprised me that the recommendation doesn't tak...

Re: Cheap Tropical Shore Diving?

Yes, we love Mala pier! It’s an incredible dive. She loves the sharks that come by, and we counted over fifty turtles on one dive. Getting out from shore is an ankle-buster, though. I can’t do it every day.

Cheap Tropical Shore Diving?

Hello all, We had been going to Maui for a while for the easy tropical shore dives. My daughter loves diving Ulua beach. Unfortunately, Maui is starting a program that restricts visitors from parking at Ulua from 7-10am  . I'm fed up with the unfriendly vibe that Maui has developed towards vi...

Re: Planyourdive Replacement for current predictions

Thanks for texting Jared! I posted on the PYD facebook page seven weeks ago, but there hasn't been a response. I appreciate the feedback from everyone--I've been able to make do with other resources.

Planyourdive Replacement for current predictions

I am a shift worker that works one-week-on and one-week-off. It works great for diving; I get to dive once each week off. I've been using planyourdive.com for the last few years to plan my dives, as it used to let me select my week off and search for best currents during that time frame. Prior to fi...

Re: BCD Recommendation

Thanks everyone! All the input helps; I wasn't aware that the backplate/wing was a separate class of BCD. I'm still using the old Sherwood Black Diamond I purchased 15+ years ago now... I was drooling over the Zeagle Ranger, but hadn't looked into backplates at all. I'll give them a look.

Re: BCD Recommendation

It's possible that she's overweighted, but not by much. I think I could probably drop her down to about 35 pounds now that she has adjusted to her drysuit. Originally she wasn't able to get under with 35. Regardless, a 20-pound BC won't be nearly enough. I purchased my BCD and drysuit at a local div...

BCD Recommendation

I am looking to upgrade my 14 year-old daughter's BCD to a weight-integrated model. She currently uses 37 pounds of weight to go with her 50 cubic-foot aluminum tank. My issue is that most of the weight-integrated BCD's that I'm seeing are limited to 20 pounds. Does anyone have a good recommendation...

Missing Fin

I'm getting ready to pack for a trip, and realized that I'm missing a fin... I was sure it came back from my last dive with me, but if anyone found a XL Atomic Aquatics fin at Sunnyside sometime after 10/12/2019, please shoot me a message!

Thanks,

Greg

Going to Bonaire

I'm heading to Bonaire in September (during the coral spawning) with my buddy. It'll be our first time there, and there appear to be a LOT of shore dive sites. Even with a stiff Nitrox tank, I'm a little doubtful that I can dive all 60+ shore dives in just eight days. Does anyone have favorite Bonai...

Owen Beach -- Looking for information

I am hoping to dive Owen beach. It sounds like a fun dive, but I can't find any current correction information. Has anyone had any experience diving this site? Please help!

I would enjoy diving with you on Friday (the 10th). I'd be driving up from Fox Island. Where do we meet?

Hi Dale,

Thanks for a great day of diving last week! It looks like I won't be available the next couple of weeks, but hopefully we can do it again sometime!

Re: M/T/W?

I live on fox island and was hoping to do either the east or west wall tomorrow. The east wall would have to be about a 6pm dive (I don't have tables on me right now). The FI west wall we could do anytime (including late morning). Are you interested?

July 5th -- Good Tides, Good Dive!

There is a solid slack time at the Narrows (South) at about 7 pm on Monday. Does anyone want to do a current-sensitive dive? I was hoping for a trip to Sunrise, the Fox Island East Wall, or Titlow, (if you can find a way to make all three work, I'm game). Could be a lot of fun... Is anyone intereste...

Thursday June 3rd, Day Island

I'm planning on diving Day Island on June 3rd. The plan is to check out the south end of the wall and say hello to a friendly wolf eel I met there last month. The currents look acceptable (not perfect, but good). My fins will be in the water at 08:30. Anybody interested?

Day Island Thursday 5/6

Is anybody up for a dive at day island on thursday? Slack is at 11:32, so it looks like we'd be in the water at 10am. I haven't ever been there before. It would be great to have someone familiar with the site to dive with.

See you underwater,

Race Rocks April 19th

My buddy and I are trying to schedule a dive with Pacific Pinnacle Scuba Adventures out of Vancouver Island / Victoria. We need two more people to meet the minimum requirement and make it affordable (2 dives, $115 / person). One of the dives would be at Race Rocks, the other one is open. Is anybody ...
