Re: Edmonds or Alki Sat 9/25

If you all don't mind a newer diver (38 dives since January), I'd be up for the Cove 2 dive... I'm in Portland, but can be up there by 9... probably can only do 2 dives, since I have to be back in Pdx by 6ish.

Let me know...

Re: Golem Gear

Golem wing are some of the toughest well made wings I have ever used. That said I found the singles wing to be way to big for a single 7" tank. The Golem 35lb single wing I used was closer to the size of my doubles wings than the singles wing's I have experience with in the same lift capacity....

Golem Gear

I got to dive a backplate/wing rig (DSS Hog Set-up) over the weekend and fell in love... luckily the Family Finance Committee (Oregondiver) has approved the expenditure of scuba credits on a new rig. I've been chatting up a few folks and Golem Gear recieved high marks for quality and customer servic...

Re: Club Dive! Club Dive! Club Dive! September 18th!

What a great day for my first club dive... thanks to the organizers for putting it together and for ordering the great weather. Special thanks to Liz for letting me use her backplate/wing and weight harness... it worked great!

Re: Club Dive! Club Dive! Club Dive! September 18th!

Does anyone have a bp/w (and weight harness or pockets) that funkydiver could try out? He was insistent he didn't want bp when he started diving in january, but now...

We prefer to use the term "hijinx" in the Funk Household... :thankyouyellow:

It's really a more appropriate term for what we get ourselves into... :stickwhack:

Re: Because it's not always about beer and tacos...

Well first off I would empty the cheese from my bacon Margarita mug http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kyyr16NV9g1qzvnxpo1_500.jpg Then you replace some of Dougs ingredients with bacon and bacon bits and VIOLA! OMG... I believe I've just seen heaven and it's a baconmug filled with cheese... :burntch...

Re: So, how cold is it... really?

Spend the money and cry once - not two or three times like I did. :crybaby: Buy the dry suit and take the dry suit class as part of your OW certification dives. This is quite common and most instructors recommend this for those who don't tolerate the cold. I was always cold until I got the dry suit...

Re: so how about a CLUB DIVE?

If we aren't on our road trip, then I am in (I will let funkydiver reply for himself!) :seesaw: I'm in for the 28th... I'm hoping to have a couple of dives in before that, so I'm not such a raw newbie... just a plain ole newbie. :binkybaby: Hey, I've been informed that the wife is doing a boat dive...

Hi everyone,

I passed my Open Water Certification last weekend \:D/ , so I figured it was time to get out there and meet some local divers (besides my wife ;) ).

See you in the water!
