Re: Contact lenses and diving
I've been wearing glasses all my life, but never really tried contacts. (I did once, about 20 years ago for a couple of weeks and hated the hard lenses.) My prescription mask is finally starting to wear out, and instead of getting a new one, I'm considering contacts. I was wondering how many of you...

Re: Can lights
If your going to be down in the south end anytime soon let me know and your welcome to take one of my lights out. I'd be glad to meet you and talk about what you want and show you how you can get it with one of my lights. I have sold to tech divers and cave tech divers. They have dove them over 250...

Re: Les Davis (8-27) and Redondo (9-10) in Pictures
Nice job on your first shots. A couple things that will shorten your learning curve are. 1. Try not to shoot down on your subject. Eye level or shooting up at your subject is usually better. 2. The G12 does great macro. Use it. When you think that you're close enough, you're not. 3. Get a strobe AS...

Les Davis (8-27) and Redondo (9-10) in Pictures
My lovely wife (Oregondiver) and my extended family bought me a Canon G12 and underwater housing for my birthday and, in preparation for our upcoming trips to Curacao in October and Bonaire in February, I decided to take it up to the Sound for a few practice dives... I'm now hooked on underwater pho...

Re: Bonaire, my first time!
We loved Bonaire so much this past February, that we are already booked for February 2012 and, just because we love the Dutch so much, we're headed to Bonaire's neighbor, Curacao, in October.

I love to guys at Wannadive and will use them for our tanks every trip. They don't blink an eye when you fill a truck with 20 or so tanks. :) Also, if you guys are going as a group again, you may want to check out a private condo or house at vrbo.com. Four of us (me, DBrown, Oregondiver, Funkydiver...

July 9/10 & July 30/31 are the only 2 free on the Funk Family Calendar, so I think I can speak for both divers in Casa Funk when I vote for those.

Shell (Oregondiver) and I will be there... I assume she will be bringing brownies with (and without) nuts, as per usual... perhaps I can get her to make her famous Pear Carmal Cake as well

I'll be in Bend celebrating my dad's birthday, so I'm out  ... perhaps I can talk my parents into seeing it if it's playing down there... if it is and I can, I'll wear my NWDC shirt and post a picture on FB.

Sund Rock - January 23, 2011
At 8:30 yesterday morning, Shell (Oregondiver) and I decided to run up to Sund Rock to blow some bubbles and our last minute trip didn't disappoint. We did the North Wall first, dropping at the bouy and descending to the 70 foot mark. Viz was 20+ feet at depth, with lots of large Ling and Rock Fish ...

Re: Oops!
I was lucky. My entire set-up fell over and made a spectacularly loud scene, so I'm very thankful I only damaged the DIN connector, tank valve, and my octo hose. It could have been a lot worse. And I was surrounded by fellow divers who offered up enough spare parts to outfit 2 divers! The only last...

Cave Adventurers
Now, I'm all for shopping locally and I do for nearly 100% of my kayaking, golf and scuba gear. However, for my BP/W set-up, I ordered from Cave Adventurers in Marianna, Florida. The shop is owned by Edd Sorenson, who moved down there 7 years ago from Portland just to open this shop (so I guess we c...
