Re: question about naui cert
My NAUI card has a cert # but it's back from the mid 80's to, Watch the old comments! The number on there might be the instructor's number. My NAUI card from the early 90s has an instructor number which for a long time I thought was my cert number but its not. Mine has both the instructor's number ...

My opinion on Mares Prestige bc and northern diver harness
I recently purchased a Mares Prestige bc without the integrated weights, and a northern diver weight and trim harness. I am very happy with both. Only one dive so far, but it was much more pleasurable than what I had before. Everyone has their preferances, dislikes and likes, this is just my opinion...

Re: Cape Lookout Oregon Coast
Another great dive at cape lookout over labor day weekend with No Excuses/Stan. Got one dive in, took the girlfriends and mine I think got her wrist seal messed up when putting on a glove and got a tad wet, said her foot was sloshy. She was just going to snorkle around the kelp, but after getting we...

Re: Adult Yelloweye - Hood Canal
I use to commercial fish years ago, and once in a while I would bring up an yelloweye. Very pretty colored fish in my opinion. Anyways, I got one about 15lbs one day, and just happened to get inspected by a marine biologist at the dock when I returned. The gal told me that with thier slow growth rat...

Re: Diving with Redundancy
I originally had my computer, compass and pressure gauge in my console. After having a computer die on me at depth, I now carry my computer on my wrist and have a good ole mechanical depth gauge in the console. Even though I was with a buddy, I did not like one bit, not knowing where I was at. Pocke...

Re: diving from Portland
Barview is out of the question without a boat right now, I believe. They are rebuilding the jetties and construction keeps you from getting close, just something to check into before you plan a trip there

Re: The eternal question: what should I buy? (Ranting +Drysu
I've had a Neoprene suit, (Harveys) and also hated it for some of the same reasons. I got lucky and picked up a Mobby's front entry armourshell suit a couple of years ago on ebay for $400. For me, it's great. It is completely self donning, and fits very well, no limits in movement and mobility at al...

Re: If you were going to buy a new drysuit today...
My opinion for what it's worth. I had a Harvey's Aqua Capsule neoprene suit. I now have a Mobby's armourshell front entry suit. I would not go back to a neoprene suit for anything. It was hard to get into, and even in the dead of winter, I was exhausted and overheated by the time I got into the wate...

Re: Cape Lookout Oregon Coast
As far as the coordinates for the arch outside of haystack rock at pacific city. I dug thru my stuff, it seems I never saved that point in my loran I used back then. I have a very long list of good fishing spots all up and down the west coast, even a couple of ship wrecks, but most are way too deep ...

Re: Cape Lookout Oregon Coast
Sounds like we need to plan a weekend. In all my years of living in the country, I've never seen many boats in that area, I bet the spearfishing would be great. And a plus, as most of the afternoon winds come from the NW, we be going back with it on the way home. Sounds like a plan.........

I commercial fished out of pacific city for about 10 years, I will check, I think I have the coordinates at home for the arch outside haystack. Hello from Kelso
Hi everyone. New to here but not diving. Certified in 1986, and every dive still amazes me. I usually dive with No Excuses/Stan, he's a great dive buddy. I'm single and drive truck for a living. Everyone have a good one and I'll be looking forward to talking with ya, and meeting some of you.
