Re: Drysuit Glove System - Which is best?

Another vote for SiTech Quick Locks. Have been diving them for two years and love them. Easy on, easy off. Never a leak. Still using the original orange atlas gloves. The stuff works and lasts.

Thank you. We were there a couple weekends ago and could not find a safe way down to the water. Caught the ferry over to Muk instead. Thanks for all the hard work.

Re: diving from a kayak

Just wanted to offer my two cents worth. My girlfriend and I had bought two Wilderness Ride 135's a couple years ago. It was our plan to have more access to more dive sites and for the most part we were successful in our quest for better access. However, the yaks had proved to be unbearably difficul...

Re: Late notice -- Mukilteo in the Morning? (Friday)

Pretty much a guarantee that octozilla is lurking around the boat though I have video of him out in the open at 35fsw, geodome, and of course the boat. I love that he is hanging around and approachable. Have fun. We will be there Sunday for a couple of dives starting around 10am. Not home - sent fro...

1/22/12 Mukilteo T-Dock perhaps nearly twenty feet of vis. A great dive with little current. Octazilla still hanging out at the boat.

It does sound like a fun project. I will get started with a rough draft and hopefully this thread will grow into a nice Muk map.

Muk Map?

Hi all, Has anyone put together a map of all the attractions at Muk? I have been diving this sight for over 18 years and am always amazed at the postings of things at this sight that I've never happened upon. If a map isn't available then I would be happy to make one but would need the input of the ...

Re: gopro cameras?

@BillyD,
The light setting for the octo video was the mid position. Not sure what that equates in lumens. It does get much brighter on the higher setting. Hope that helps.

Re: gopro cameras?

I went with bigblue vl1300 and love it. Add to that a tray, handle, arms and you can see how the little inexpensive GoPro just got pretty expensive. Oh well. It's really about the fun factor and I have plenty of it. Hope this helps. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk Hi Ranbal, So would you recomme...

Re: gopro cameras?

I thought one of these little cameras would be the BEST.THING.EVER! So I got me one, and got the Eye of Mine flat port housing too. Here's what I found were the downsides to these little GoPro cameras: I attached it to my head with the elastic band head mount, but found it slips off unless you atta...

Re: What cylinder do you dive, and why?

I have been diving the pacific northwest for over 18 years. Started with al80's but quickly learned the benefits of hp steel and have been diving hp100's ever since. As listed numerous times, the buoyancy factor of steel makes it worth it.

Re: Foot heavy on trim

Speaking of remorse, I have buyers remorse from my BioFins...want a non split fin these days... I've been diving my biofins for years. No complaints. Not that it matters to anyone but the biofins reduced a ton of stress on a bad knee of mine. On another note, my girlfriend is a back-archer and has ...

Re: gopro cameras?

I have only used mine on 7 dives, but I like it so far. I made a mount to attach it to my mask, but I've seen other methods of carry. There is a thread on the "gear" page here about the flat lenses, and several threads on the "underwater imaging" page about the camera. Good luck...

Re: T dock 12/28/11

Wow for 55' it looks awful dark on that log. But the vis looks pretty good at the dome. Looks like you saw a lot on that dive, or is that a mix of day/night dives? I'm not the OP so my 55' observation may not apply to his post of the octo on the log. I was just guessing at the depth of the geo dome...

Re: TTN Last Night

Well last night was a great night for cold winter diving as we all braved the rain and the wind … The team plan was to take 6 divers down to the deep, and hope that we all came back , with all the wrong gear configs , and no 10 foot long hoses , back up to our backs up.. we were all brave divers .....

I was there last weekend and the octo was first just sitting out in the open at 38 feet and then followed us down to the geo dome 55ft? and it hung out there with us for a little while before wandering off. It was not overly friendly to us and kept its distance maybe 8 to 10 feet away. It is a nice ...

Re: gopro cameras?

I've been using a GoPro Hero for about 6 months now. It works great. You do however need a housing with a flat port to fix the underwater focus issue. There are numerous housings on the market these days. Just google it for tons of info. You will never get the exceptional quality video that you woul...

Keystone update December 18th. Girlfriend and I arrived at 9am. Beach building operation fired up at 9:30am. Some kind soul dragged a couple of the picnic tables over to the corner above the nicely formed pathway to the water. Thank you very much. We backed the truck right up to the tables. No one s...

I guess my girlfriend and I would fit into that category as hard as we try to get to the dive sites early we are always late. Exceptions to this would be training and charters. Not that this is a bad thing. We like diving in the evenings and checking out the night shift of critters. Sent from my DRO...

Re: Urchin Rocks/Northwest Island with Uncle Pug

I wish I had the $$$ to get myself a scooter. I would rather scoot over to these sites rather than paddle. Not that I mind the paddle that much (works great) but the thought of flying through the water would make the journey as cool as the destination.

Re: Urchin Rocks/Northwest Island with Uncle Pug

Thanks for the nice report. My girlfriend and I did this dive from our kayaks yesterday. Anchored on the East side of Northwest Island. Nice and calm on this side. We ventured to the North side which was quite shallow but with lots to look at and then drifted along East side past the anchor point th...
