Re: Chiton

Thanks Scott. I'm not a big fan of Cove 2 BUT maybe there is more motivation to dive there now! (great pix BTW!)

Chiton

So a friend sent me a photo of an awesome chiton shell she found down in Santa Barbara. I had never heard of them much less seen one but they are pretty darn cool looking. What I read about them says that the PNW is within their habitat range and that leaves me wondering, any one found one up here a...

Thursday's dive, I really wish that I could have gotten the painted shell in focus as there is a crab in it which I thought made it way cool. I will find it again!

Saw you headed down the steps Bob. It was a wet dive night. I didn't check my neck seal for the second dive so it was wee bit chilly packing everything up!

Re: DIW 1/6/12

Oh yeah, not to start another 6 gill rush at Redondo or anything but the NOAA folks did say they tagged a bunch of six gills off Redondo. The place to look for them is out from Salty's in about 80 meters of water about daybreak, or so they said.

DIW 1/6/12

Arrived a little after 8, parked very nicely and waited very very quietly. Somebody's dog started to bark after one of HIS neighbors walked by his house and I thought "Oh such a grand thing". About 30 minutes later somebody came out to take his dog for a walk. I waved, he glared, I smiled,...

Re: The ongoing 'Dond Lumpie and Friends Show ...

No sir it was out in the open. I normally don't touch or turn things over as most of the times I've done it I've been bitten! (although I did poke a Buffalo Sculpin towards then end of the dive and I was rewarded with a bite; again re-enforcement to keep my hands to myself) * Alright, it was ID'd in...

Re: The ongoing 'Dond Lumpie and Friends Show ...

We decided to do something different so we headed up to 3 Tree. Saw a GPO, wolfie, and a couple of spotted greenlings and not much else so we headed to Redondo.
