Salt Creek 1/24

Headed out to Salt Creek this past Thursday to take advantage of the better than average forecast. Visibility was mediocre at best - 10' or so. Started the first dive at around 10am. There was quite a bit of surge but nothing unreasonable. It just made for a bit of extra work. The site is just beaut...

Re: Redondo 10/25

Lumpies were on the north side. We went into the eel grass at the end of the dive and found them pretty quickly. Hopefully that is a sign that there are a lot of them around. Or maybe we just got lucky...

Redondo 10/25

Did a couple of dives at Redondo late yesterday evening/night. The parking lot was surprisingly empty. Conditions were fantastic - almost lake like and vis was 20+. Stumbled onto a dogfish laying about on the night dive. Tons of sailfins out and about but best of all lumpies! It's that time of year....

Re: Sekiu 7/8

Saw quite a few stalk jellies. I wish i had taken more pics during the dives. I mostly just spent my time simply looking at all of the life and the big picture views. Ohop tell us more about Hoko! Is it doable from shore?

Re: Sund Rock 7/13

The stars are still in good health. I saw 4. Hopefully they will come back in force. There could have been more but the vis was so terrible I had to swim right on top of anything in order to see it.

Sund Rock 7/13

Went down to Sund Rock on a rare Friday off. It was a really big exchange and visibility was not good. Current was moving pretty good too. More than I have ever felt at Sund Rock. I had the place all to myself. First dive I went with the wide angle lens and switched to macro for the second. FYI coor...

Sekiu 7/8

Finally made over to Sekiu. This is a dive I have been wanting to do for a long time. It is a really long drive over from Seattle but definitely worth it! Headed out Saturday afternoon after work and camped at a somewhat nearby campground. This what I think I will do for future trips over there. Oh ...

I did KVI from shore once. We made it out and after a lot of work and dropped down into 3' vis. Maybe. On the plus side you guys don't need to go the gym today!

Re: Alki Pipeline 2/7

I went with Opossum Shrimp based on Lamb and Hanby Marine Life of the Pacific Northwest p283. A type of mysid shrimp. If I am incorrect please speak up. I have only seen one other - posted below. It was at the Alki Junkyard. Both have been in the sand. They are about the size of a large green pea. Y...

Alki Pipeline 2/7

Planned to dive the Junkyard today but the wind had things really whipped up. Decided to swing by the pipeline and was quite pleased with the difference. Splashed at around noon to zero current and mediocre viz. Perfect for some super macro shooting. I never made it to the end of the pipe. Max depth...

Super macro at the Junkyard

Went down the the Alki Junkyard on Saturday to shoot some super macro in the eel grass. There is a lot to see there right now. Skeleton shrimp out the wazoo! Sadly I didn't get any really good shots of one. If I could only get the eel grass to stand still! The diopter and moving objects just...

Re: Spiders at the junkyard

Thanks guys. They are some freaky weird critters. Gdog come on up or down. I live really close to the junkyard. I dive it pretty regularly. My schedule is somewhat flexible so hit me up when you want to go.

Spiders at the junkyard

Went down the the Alki Junkyard a few day ago. The sea spiders are out in force. I was excited to find one with eggs. Now if they were just a little easier to photograph!

Cove 2 - 12\13

I figure it's about time I started adding to the discussion. Went down to Cove 2 this morning. Snowflakes were falling on the way down. Brrrrr. Viz was a bit on the craptastic side. Apparently all of the crabs were having a contest to see who could dig the deepest hole and subsequently stir up the m...

Greetings all. I am a little late to this thread. I am not lurking too much these days. Anyone coming to Kona please feel free to contact me. I will give all the help I can and hopefully join for a dive or two. Feel free to pm me through the board. My account is still active.

Re: Holy crap I can breath underwater?!

So I did move to Bali but my lovely wife and I did not really like it. It is an awesome spot for a vacation but not ideal for long term living. At least for us. Hello Hawaii! So far so good. It was especially nice to dive with a like minded diver again. Thank you Eric :supz: Vacation divers scare me...
