Mask & Snorkel lost at Cove 2 on 3/17

One of my buddies left his mask and snorkel at Cove 2 this morning. If anyone happens to have seen it and picked it up please PM me.

It is a black Mares mask with side windows and a black and yellow Atomic snorkel.

Thank you

Re: Drysuit advice

I agree that fit is the most important and brand name is not. However, I could not think of a way to identify the suits I have found that fit me well without mentioning the manufacturer. I don't need "bling" of a DUI but I also don't want to ignore a good suit because it is a bit more expe...

Drysuit advice

So I'm tired of freezing my  off every dive and have decided to surrender and go dry... now I have to choose the right suit. On the neoprene side I am looking at the Apollo Bio Pro 4.0 and the Scubapro Everett. On the shell side I am looking at the DUI CF200 and the USIA Techniflex. I am 6'1&...

Re: Contact lenses and diving

Three words, Laser Eye Surgery. I used to wear glasses (20/200 with astigmatism) but now I don't wear anything but sunglasses and mask while diving =D . Eventually the surgery pays for itself, and I have had no complications(I had PRK done) (Sorry for going off track) +1 on LASIK I had my eyes zapp...

Re: Where to in Maui?

We stayed in Kihei and dove with Ed Robinson's group. Great experience. The boats were clean and not crowded, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Next time we will dive with thermal again. There is also great shore diving on Maui. Mala warfare and 5 graves/ 5 caves are great. Sent from my DROI...

Re: Maui in April

Thanks for the advice. B&B has been recommended a few times and they are pretty close to our condo so I'll definitely talk to them. Sounds like their boat does one dive out at Molokini and then another at South Maui. We're new divers so it is important to work with a dive operation we can trust....

Maui in April

Ok. So we've booked the condo, we've booked the flight...

We're going to Maui! Staying in Kihei... Now what. This is my first trip to warm water and my first trip anywhere as a diver.

Any recommendations? Tips? Top dive spots?

Re: Primary lights for new divers

Seeing as we are buying two of everything, I contacted Dusty2 for two of his modified SL4s... all I can say is Awesome! Other than the lights getting snowed in in Atlanta this worked smooth. Our lights cost $32 and we had them shipped directly to Dusty's place. He had them done within hours of recie...

Re: Dive Computers

Thank you all for the info. It will help me narrow the field down. I agree that I need to go play with the computers myself and get a feel for them. I just want to make sure that I know what I am looking for and at.

Dive Computers

So here's another question for you all: I am a new diver who plans on doing mostly cold water diving (North Sound and Hood Canal mainly). What type of dive computer am I looking for? I read the descriptions and features on all the computers and really am not sure what I actually need or what is over...

Re: Tropical Gear

We are planning on going to Maui. Not sure where on the island we will be staying but with a rental car (and a shower curtain to protect the trunk from wet sandy gear) it seems like it's pretty easy to get everywhere on the island. We'll probably rent gear unless I can find a screaming deal or end u...

Tropical Gear

So I am going to Hawaii for my first time in warm water and as a new diver I (of course) have a couple questions. I am planning on doing at least a few dives while I am there and appreciate any advice you all can offer. -Do I need to buy a wetsuit for the trip? If so what do you recommend? Would a s...

Re: Primary lights for new divers

We don't have much of a setup at this point... Like I said we are new divers. We both have our personal gear but that's about it. We're working on "gearing up" but still trying to work out the financing of it all. Our backups are Q-40s that we picked up for OW.

Primary lights for new divers

My girlfriend and I are going for our AOW training at the end of the month. We're new to diving but very in love with it. We need to buy our primary lights and would appreciate any input you all can give us.

Re: "What is dangerous" - in scuba diving ??

Thanks for the info everyone! Excellent topic Acquatic! As a new diver it is hard to separate the fact from the fiction. I am a VERY new diver with OW under my belt and AOW coming up. I am trying to learn everything I can to become not just a better diver, but to become a better buddy. My girlfriend...
