Thursday Night Diving 6/2

Who's up for diving this Thursday? 6-630 meet. There's been lots of octo sightings, comb jellies, opulescent nudis, grunts, even rare-for-redondo pink mouth hydroids that have been seen!

Thursday Night Diving 5/26

Hi! Who's up for diving this Thursday? 6-6:30 meet at Redondo! Last week viz was bad but there were plenty of octos, stubbies, and larval creatures about. There's also been a recent hatching of opalescent nudibranchs to see!

Re: Hello world! Looking for instruction recs

Hi
Welcome!

I don't know the active instructors too well these days. So all I can say is take a class with a dry suit option and the more dives in the class (not a rush off to tropical dive) the better.

Have fun!

Hi Will!
Cool finds! Are you back?

#2 is a sea spider, likely giant sea spider Nymphon pixellae
#5 is a scallop
#6 female scalyhead (I think)

Re: Using a shop compressor for inflation testing

Very cool! My favorite way to find drysuit leaks is to shine a light from the inside of my suit and see if I see light shining through :) It often works!

Lucky you if you can get access to a boat and knowledgeable Captain out there! Shore diving is either tough or not great there. I hear some people do the jetty.

Hi! Who's up for diving this Thursday Cinco de Mayo? 🌮🌯🎉🍸🍹 How about a BBQ or picnic after our dive? What do you all say? We can do our famous T-Bone Steak (or veggie) Wall Street Tacos or some other margaritas or fare.

Hi! Who's up for diving this Thursday? 6-6:30 meet at the 'Dond! Check out these super-tiny Ancula Nudibranchs (I believe) which were spotted in large numbers last week! They may not last long as some were already laying eggs. img_1_1651064628115.jpg In the last week, we've also seen lumpies on eggs...

Hi!
Very cool. It looks like a female scalyhead to me. The males have two pronounced cirri on top of their heads. Greg Jenson's free sculpin ebook likely has more info

Campbell River and Dodd's Narrows April 2022

Hi A group of us went up to dive Campbell River April 8-10, with Abyssal Dive Charters. We had 40+ feet of viz and the best tides of the year to enjoy it. The diving's just so much fun up there, check it out! (tell them Eric and Scuba Jess sent you!) On the way home, we checked out Dodd's Narrows ne...
