God's Pocket - Aug 2017

Howdy Folks! ScubaJess, Dave Bennet, myself, and several others just got back from another great trip up to God's Pocket (near Port Hardy BC, northwest diving mecca). It was another great trip as usual. The staff was great, boat was great, food good, divemaster excellent. Viz was bad, as one might e...

Re: Keystone Friday Night 8/18

New camera?? :taco: :partydance: Very cool! What did you get? During this time it is a 2 knot ebb. Keystone's best on a flood. I'd recommend divers going out at this time be pretty comfortable in current and stay on the inside of the split. It might be tough to take a new camera out in those c...

Cool vid!

Those were some weird creepy crawly things in the feather star. Was that the feather star itself? Was that shot at Barkley?

Re: White Lined Dironas MIA?

Please keep documenting this stuff... I've seen pretty significant biodiversity changes down in the mid-sound post Sea Star Wasting syndrome, it would be interesting to keep taking notes, present thoughts to the marine ecologists (like Dr. Harvell) and see what they think. When i chatted about the ...

Final Tally: Day Island, Titlow, Fox Island West & East Walls, Octopus Hole, Pt. Whitney, Hudson Point (Twice), Marine Science Center Dock, and Norrander's Reef. Tried to add Salt Creek to that list, but discretion being the better part of valor followed my dive buddy's lead in saying, "no...

H2oDoc sighting

Howdy Folks

I was diving at Deception Pass the other day -- look at this smug guy who came into my frame. It was just too cool to be out there!

Re: Dives near Bellingham (Keystone Jetty, Rosario?)

Taryn, Keystone's a wonderful spot! The best I can think of for you near your area. Its best done a best slack before flood into a mild flood (preferably 1.5 knot max flood, or 1.2 knots or less for good bottom time at the end of the jetty, with some experience/skills in the current). Unfortunately,...

Re: Neah Bay Away Mission

What a great trip. I haven't been out there for several years, and even though this was a long road trip for two dives (plus one on the way back at PT), I was so thankful and happy to go! Great meeting some new buddies, and thanks again for Leanne letting us crash her site at Neah, then Coll and Jan...

Three Tree and other stuff...

Howdy folks! We had about 8 people show up for our ThThTh dive at Three Tree yesterday. It was my first time to the site since the closure. We managed to squeeze in about 6-7 cars. A good time was had by all! Here were some observations of the dive: * Viz Sucked! It was a muddy, hazy 5 feet of viz *...

Re: Dive Vehicles

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still looking. I really liked how my Passat could hold 6 tanks laying down in the back, without even folding seats down. That seems hard to match, unless you go pickup truck. Anybody know if any of the small SUV's or other wagons fit that bill?

Have you been diving at Point Hudson in Port Townsend as of late? I'd love to hear a status report of the construction. Has it s...

Hi Bob!
South side, by the boat launch.

Forgot to mention, we came across a painted anemone out there too... I think this has been there, I just don't come across it often. Weird to see that nice burst of color out there.
