Re: Getting seals replaced on a drysuit, where would you go?
I walk it into my shop, hand it to my wife and say "PLEASE " and she gets right on it. Usually while I'm mowing the lawn or shoveling snow or some other thing to earn it!

You won't be disappointed with the Shearwater or with Bruce's service. I have the GF on my KISS, it's great and Bruce is always just a call or email away.

Re: Offboard 02 for the mCCR
... One way to overcome THAT problem is to turn your 02 off if your P02 creeps up (as opposed to burning through your dil)- but I don't like doing that if I don't have to. Personal preference, but if I want 02 in the loop, I want it right now . ... Josh, have you had an issue with water ingress whe...

OC Trimix Instructor, OC Adv Trimix Diver, CCR Adv Trimix Diver, All issued by the lovely Mel Clark (scubgrunt) Who I highly recommend! It's too cold to do much more than 50 minutes right now the water is 35 degrees. In the summer we wreck dive or do a deep wall every week or two depending on who is...

Nice shots Bob, I don't know if you are asking for critique or not but just a couple points - many of them look under exposed or dark were you shooting in .jpg or RAW? If you shot in RAW you might be able to bump up the exposure and make them even better. The other thing would be to move your subjec...

Would you go?
Here's a spinoff of the Extended Rage topic. Here's the question: You're buddy is standing in front of you with tickets for a trip to Truk lagoon followed by a trip to Bikini Atoll. He's picking up the tab for the entire 2 week trip all you have to do is pack and dive. All of the planned dives are b...

I got stuck under Ice for 10 minutes a few weeks ago with a full 100 and only 2' down. I'll tell you what it gets your attention real quick. Much less at 235' in a rusty old sub.

Re: Extended Range Diving
Correct me if I'm wrong here but we're the Rouses at 235' essentially that's 2 ATA beyond 180' which is the lower limit for Extended Range. Also, the Rouses were killed by inadequate decompression they had dropped their deco bottles and couldn't find them due to the other problems including being na...

Re: And we think we have Crabs
No doubt that they are big but if you scale that picture out, that garbage can isn't as big as it looks. Look at the expansion gaps in the sidewalk and then the crab, I would guess it's not more then 24" long. That's still big but not as big as the picture makes it out to be.

Re: Extended Range Diving
Guy's, we all have a little bit different points of view. I'm a TDI Adv Nitrox / Deco Procedures / Tri-mix Instructor. Notice I didn't say Extended Range - When I did my Instructor Course I saw no need for my being able to teach it nor did my IT (Mel). No, I don't advocate deep air but, I'm not afra...

Re: Add-On thigh pockets
EDIT: I should probably elaborate. Many adhesives are constructed for a higher bonding property, and can be made to be sealants as well, retaining most, if not all of those properties including flexibility, and because aquaseal is a Urethane Rubber, I assumed this was the case. If I am wrong, pleas...

Re: Add-On thigh pockets
Aqualseal doesn't sell anything. Aquaseal is a product. McNett which is a company out of Bellingham, makes many products including Aqualseal, Cotol, Seal Cement, Sea drops, etc. For bonding - use seal cement . To seal use Aquaseal. When we do latex seals, we glue them on with seal cement then seal t...

Re: Add-On thigh pockets
You should use Mcnett Seal Cement not Aquaseal to install pockets and such. Everyone, including the manufacturers confuses the purpose of Aquaseal, it's a sealant not a glue. Putting pockets on is really easy. All you need to do is trace where you want the pocket on your suit with chalk, paint seal ...

Yep, Started this first of the year. It was 24 degrees last night when we finished! Water's a balmy 35. These dives are mostly just to get people out diving. Nice and easy 60' 44 minutes. Saw a ton of crab and a huge baitball!

Showers don't count as dives :rr:
For a lot of people 6 ft will last about 8-9 minutes at the surface. That's 4-4.5 minutes at 33' and 3 minutes at 66'.
