Yes, lots and lots of politics, agendas vendettas, you name it! (which is why I initially asked about prior cave training) Mel, Curt who's your instructor? I'm sure hope its a fine class probably with a couple CCR specific tweaks. I loved my Cavern+intro class (GUE Cave1) really had alot of fun. Ri...

DUI CLX 50/50 For Sale

Need to get rid of a couple things: Prices below INCLUDE USPS Shipping/Insurance within the 50 states and territories. I have a DUI CLX 50/50 so it's similar to the Flex 50/50 but has the CLX material on the top half instead of the standard trilam. Suit is a Signature Series and was manufactured 9/2...

Gonna be a Busy weekend.

Just got the call. We have 3 boats sunk and by tomorrow there will probably be a 4th. Haven't got all the details yet but 1 is a 44' Hattera's and the one that will probably sink is inside the boat house below. It's all that's holding the house up and we are expecting 10" of snow tonight. http:...

So from an outsider looking in:

Wouldn't "don't ask, don't tell" be in everyone's best interest. If this guy goes and starts asking all these agencies for permission to dive these wrecks, he's going to force them to start enforcing rules that they might not otherwise enforce.

Yea, he said it was a pretty cool one that he found. I'm always up for bottle hunting. Had two milk bottles downtown a month or so ago but left them down there when I couldn't find my buddy in the silt. Little did I know, he'd given up on finding me and was just continuing his dive. Being the good b...

To Dave collecting means taking them all! He's almost single handedly cleaned up the entire Sitka area. I'm sure Beth just cringes everytime he brings another truckload home!

I hear you! This morning I went out to start my truck. It definitely wasn't happy about starting, then I looked up at the thermometer -6 degrees.

It's now up to a balmy 10 degrees out there.

Sunday and that airplane can't come soon enough...

Cause this is COLD water not that semi-tropical stuff you guys are diving in! :la: Right now you have to break through Ice to get into the ocean water. Mom says he has to wait until he's about 12 before he get's his first drysuit of course that will probably be a signature series cf200 just like dad...

Brrrr Will Winter ever end????

Jeez, For the first time in years we've actually had a real winter. Snow on the ground continuous from Late Oct to now. Our ski area has the #2 snow depth in the world! and Just when we start to see more daylight, an "arctic front" moves in! It's been less than 26 degrees for a week and an...

Any opinions on the different makes and manufacturers of BP/W systems? The basic idea is all the same. For single tank, I prefer a Stainless Single tank adapter(STA) over lacing cam bands through the wing. You can also get a weighted STA and save 6-7 lbs on the belt. With the SS plate that's 12-14l...

I've been diving the Scubapro Laguna snorkel in the pool which is the same snorkel as the Cuda. I've only breathed off of it in the pooll since I only wear a snorkel when I'm teaching and just let it dangle there in the Openwater. I like the fact that it's dry but because it's dry, the pressure at d...

Trip/Class Report - KISS CCR with Mel Clark - Silent Scuba

Hi all, I'm back home and still recovering and digesting all the hard work and information pounded into my head last week. My friend Patty and I flew to Seattle on Sunday and were met by Curt at the airport. We were quickly swept away up to Mill Creek to start the course with Mel. Sunday consisted o...

I'm fairly certain she's describing my rebreather course that starts Sunday... Except, I prefer rum n coke over margaritas......

Probably about $150-175 for a Dive Rite, Halcyon or Salvo reel with 400' of line. I've had really good luck with my Halcyon. Personally, I prefer the side handle to the traditional type. Less chances of fouling (notice I said less.....).
