We saw that orb in the sky yesterday but it was gone today when we decided to do some diving. We headed out in the boat just as the snow started. Got to the site we wanted to dive and decided to bag it due to lack of someone on the boat in case it broke loose in the driving snow storm. By that time ...

There are basically 2 types of HID Bulbs used in dive lights. They are both made by Welch Allen. The focusable ones are benerally tube shaped and will either be fully encased in a housing or will have a "test tube" covering the light bulb. The fixed focusable ones have the reflector built ...

What do you want to spend? I've got 2 Halcyon 10watts that I'm really happy with. I with some others with 10 watters and everyone is happy with them. The bigger HIDs are definitly brighter but in my opinion I don't think they are so much brighter that you'll have "filiment envy". It's not ...

Sad. It sounds like they were pulled up to quickly. It's unfortunate they didn't release their own weights when their uncontrolled decent started. I read a lot of articles about dive accidents and most of the time the divers are found with their weights still on them. It makes me wonder if, in a pa...

So far this winter, we've had nearly 100 inches. But since it's also rained there's less than a foot on the ground. We're supposed to get 12" today though!

We've had crap for weather the past year. Our last string of nice days was August 2005! Hopefully it breaks soon.

Wow!

My staff and I decided a few years ago, that we wouldn't take openwater students out unless the air temps were higher than 35 degrees and all of my students wear drysuits.

That's a tough group!

http://www.uscg.mil/ccs/cit/cim/foia...CG%20HEALY.htm You have to read the whole story. There were a ton of things done wrong, the divers were in over their heads and didn't know when to quit. Tenders were untrained and had had a couple beers, weighting was a mess, didn't hookup the BC's, Gloves lea...

Copis Megladon. It's basically the same idea as a KISS with the ability to swap out the head to be a full ECCR Meg. It's what Mel is diving now.

Yea' She's dove one a time or two! I did my Adv Nitrox/Deco Instructor Course with her in November we had a great time! By the time you finish your course, you'll be wanting a rebreather. You'll be at the beach with dragging all these tanks and then there's Mel with the rebreather and a single stage...

We'll I guess I'm a rebreather Owner!!

I've officially purchased my rebreather: Classic Kiss #200. Got it used from a Seattle Diver who's moving on to another unit. Now, the lame part is that the rebreather is in Seattle so I haven't even seen it, and I have to wait until February 19th to come down to Seattle to get the rebreather and to...

My dad and brother are the same way.

2 Sets of Double Steel Tanks For Sale

Hi all, My dive buddy moved to California and left his doubles at my house. He's since decided that he doesn't want them and asked me to sell them for him. So, I have: 1 Set double Faber 95's 2640 working pressure 05 Hydro Date, Highland Bands and Thermo Manifold. They have exactly 3 dives on them. ...

Does it count if I'm going the other way? I'll be in Seattle in Late Feb for my Rebreather course. Then off to Catalina in March to some warmer water so I can certify my 10 y/o.

I would kill for 47 degrees!! That's about the max we ever see. Right now it's 35 degrees!

Our definition of cold is when the you get out of the water and hike back to the truck. Then your buddy has to pry your frozen BC off your back!

Classic Kiss/Shearwater

It basically only came down to it or the Copis and I decided that the Kiss will be best for what I want to do down the road.

I can't complain,

PocketPC to run V-planner on, and the OK to buy a rebreather and a trip to see Mel to learn to use it!

All it cost me in return is the OK for her to go to Nepal for a month with her dad.

I'm sure it can be done but your going to have to look pretty hard to find someone to do it. The ends are very specialized to Scuba and I've never seen them available anywhere on thuer own. On top of that you'll need to find someone with the specific Swaging dies for the hose and fittings and those ...
