Re: FS: AL-27

It's an aluminum Luxfer, S/N LR1030. First (manufacturer's) hydro 09/99, second hydro 1/06. Dimensions are 18" high by 5-1/4" diameter. "S27" is stamped on it next to the hydro date. Definitely 27 ft3. Googling "Luxfer 27 scuba tank" got a few hits. Evidently the actual...

Plus... It says right on the sign you walked by to get to the dive that only salmon trolling is allowed. Actually I got to the site via the waterfront house area down the beach, but thanks for the info. Yep Calvin, Sunrise is my absolute favorite shore dive in the Sound, though I don't hit it very ...

Sunrise 8-22-07

Had a good dive at Sunrise yesterday on the evening slack. Nice solid hour of zero current. Not bad viz, maybe 15-20 feet with some small blobs of crud in the water. Saw the usual proliferation of Sunrise life - gpo and red octo's, wolfies, several sturgeon poachers, and lots of ratfish. Kinda looke...

Chef, for various reasons I've cut back a bit on the diving, and just can't justify maintaining a half dozen tanks current on VIP's and hydro's.

I'm still keeping my pair of 130's Sounder :)

Tom, have you checked with All in 1? They sell 10 fill nitrox punch cards for $70. You could get a lot of those for the cost of setting up your own fill station.

Just as a data point, I had two o-rings blow in my first 30 or so dives. Switched to din at that point. Last warm water trip I used one of those screw on din-yoke adapters. Sure got old having that first stage jammed against the back of my skull. Next time I will just have the shop change it over to...

Ron, these settings seem to be working okay for me: ISO 100, Spot Metering, Spot Autofocus Area, Macro, Quick Shutter Off, Flash On (or Soft), and everything else in default mode. I was getting that dark spot in the corner of my shots too until I installed the flash diffuser that came with the housing. That fixed it right up, made the flash nice and even. I don't have a strobe.

Thanks for the o-ring info Calvin. I took the Casio out for the first time at Harper Dock today, pic's are posted here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7506674@N04/ . Nothing too spectacular, but for my first effort at underwater photography I'm satisfied. The camera seemed easier to operate than I exp...
