Re: Nitrox training
I did the SDI class online, you do all the material online, then you just go into a SDI/TDI shop and analyze a tank and do a few other things(I cant remember) and your done. I think the cost was around $150.

I also have an X1, and more recently a diverite nitek Q I am very impressed with the nitek Q. Though it's not an X1 it's a little over half the price of one with Trimx unlock. In the begining I dove tables and bottom timer(s) (and still do) that's a very good option if you want to save some cash(tho...

Re: Need an AL80 stage.
I have a '72 6351 alloy its been bead blasted and has a 4/11 hydro and VE date. It was my Dad's first scuba tank, I have been using it for ten years with no issue(obviously), but I still find myself covering my nads when I PP blend high concentrations of O2 in it. I will let it go if you want it.

Re: cleaning bottles
I have had very good success with the various muriatic acid substitutes (acid magic, ect) available at most hardware stores.
A quick overnight soak with a mild solution, and the barnacles wipe off with a sponge. I havn't had any problem with glass etching either.

+1 on the halcyon reel, you can't go wrong with it. I also have the 200' hollis reel and I'm not a fan of it.

FS: Apeks WTX80 wing
I have a brand new, never been in the water Apeks WTX80 Wing.
This wing was given to me and I have no use for it. I took the inflator off, other than that it's perfect, would like to get 150.00.
