Re: Scooter Lines to the Valiant have been cut.
I happen to be a member of the scuba police. Our mission is to make sure people are diving proper. If you have the wrong fins, or wear your compass on the right, or run deco the wrong way...you are a clear hazard to the diving community and I will pull you over. When I'm not telling people what gea...

More importantly why would they give a rats ass about this site? It's not a secret or unknown.
Inquiring minds want to know.

You can thank Sno county directly for this BJ. The Sno county jail will not take anybody with a narcoticcs addiction. Too much medical $$ and liability. Better you pay for it than them.

Re: ron akeson
I have only heard rumors about the cell age (from purchase, not necessarily months of use). Personally I don't have any spare cells right now although I might buy one for travel purposes this summer. Did Ron tend to keep some on the shelf? Guess I'd still like to know the purchase to accident date ...

Re: ron akeson
It's interesting that he said he was having problems with a cell, and the testing showed two of the three were faulty. I read a very good article a number of years ago, by Andrew Ainslie, talking about voting logic. He was dubious that just going with the majority vote on three cells was safe enoug...

It's time for a post script to this story. It has been a struggle to find the words to effectively communicate our findings. Ron was a long time friend of almost 2 decades and many dive adventures spanning from Canada to Bikini Atoll. As best we can tell Ron succumbed to an oxygen toxicity event on ...

Re: Just want some opinions
My opinion: This forum should not be used to attack local businesses, be it a charter or shop, because someone doesn't like their business model. Thought the OP did a pretty good job of not attacking. No Names or locations were mentioned. However he felt he was treated poorly. I would have to agree...

Re: How much are you paying for viz and hydro?
Be aware that many shops won't accept VIP stickers unless they have a pre printed shop logo. Tacoma Scuba won't accept any tank with a generic sticker and a lot of shops follow this rule so if you are going to take the course plan on getting labels printed up. There is no rule requiring any of this...

Re: Ron Akeson RIP.
I used to give Ron shit about how he trained people. If you went out & nailed some skill he would never hit you again with it. If you struggled or maybe just weren't as smooth as he liked. He would hammer you with that skill on every follow on dive. Basically beat you over the head with it. He d...

Re: Ron Akeson RIP.
Ron was an amazing guy. I'm proud to have called him my friend as well as my mentor and my instructor. I will always treasure the C card in my drawer with his name in the instructor spot. I first met him when I was a brand new CCR diver, trying to figure out how to start diving deep shipwrecks. I q...

With Rick's attitude toward tech diving. I have no doubt he will achive this in the not so distant future should he choose to.

Good luck! You will find tech divers are a real small percentage of diving community.
I think for some the idea of tech diving is far more appealing than the reality.
