That's right CaptnJack. All to often, divers just meet up at a dive site for the first time, then go for the splash. A lot of things are left on the assumption, that: 1. Nothing goes wrong during the dive - therefore, nobody checks on your buddy's gear configuration, in case "s..t" happens...

Oh! C'mon Chris_81. You can make 2 dives. You and I could buddy up tomorrow. I was there today and did 3 dives. I'll be there again tomorrow (Sunday) for 2 dives. Gotta get my tanks filled early in the morning.

I'm planning to go on vacation in July to California and visit my mother and siblings in SoCal (Buena Park). So, the question is, Does anybody have any recommendations of any boat dives from Long Beach, or any chartered boat dives at Catalina island?

This is a very sad day for the Diving world in the Northwest. My condolences to the loved ones of the deceased.

That is so right! As parents, we are supposed to bestow and pass down our hobbies/interests to our kids or loved ones. My 16 year old daughter is about to take her SCUBA lessons in about three weeks. I hope this doesn't dampen her spirit. On the other hand, my 21 year old son is not totally comitted...
