OK, tropical waters not Puget Sound waters, but doesn't the environment and amount of light around them suggest they mixed up Metres and feet? Aside from that, holy carp! I'm going to haul my gear along to our family Turkey Day feed, and Alexitt and I will be trying to go out Saturday, probably Mukilteo or EUP mid-day.

Wow, that was great! It's amazing the infrastructure those old missiles took to keep them ready to go, and you captured it very very well... Even after most of it was stripped out, the fueling system (the pumps and tanks at the end) was a reminder of the dangers those crews had to deal with every da...

Hey, at least you're not trying to put it all into a Honda Civic... That can get interesting, even for one person's gear. Stuff in totes in the back seat, another tote and a couple tanks in the trunk. I like your idea of building a rack for the tanks.

Of the many who serve, not so many are called upon to perform heroic deeds, but rather we sat far behind the lines (in my case, mostly in front of computers sending important weather data to places around the globe) doing the unsung tasks needed to support our brethren...
