What is this thing?

This thing was about the size of a golf ball. Found it at Cove 2 today.

That is a great idea. I wouldn't have the first idea of how to write such a proposal but I would volunteer my elite desktop publishing skills to the job. :) Hmm, here's an idea: talk to Bruce Higgins and pick his brain about Edmonds. It's a successful marine park and his figures and timelines would ...

Alki beach development plans?

I was watching tv and in the ad for the local news, they said something like, "Dream development at Alki? Tune in for the details." There was a photo of Salty's, and then a picture of a computer model showing many bigger buildings along the beach. I think the news aired yesterday so I have...

Bob, it's a 4mm compressed neoprene suit. So it's a lot warmer, but also heavier and less flexible.

FS: Bare CD4 drysuit $350 (XL, boots about size 10)

(I will update the post with some pics later tonight when I have the chance.) I bought this suit used and dived it for almost a year, about 45 dives. It treated me well, but the fit was a compromise as I am more of an XL-short on Bare's size chart. Now that I have my new suit, it's time to sell this...

WTB: DIN reg to yoke adapter

My Dive Rite DIN reg came with a nifty adapter so that I could use it on a yoke valve, but I managed to lose it. If anyone wants to get rid of a similar adapter, LMK. Thanks!

FS: DUI standard hood, XL, new, $30

This is not the "warm neck" hood, but the standard version. I'm not really sure what the difference is, something about how the neck is shaped, I guess.

Anyway it is new, tried on once and never been wet. $30 takes it, pick up on the east side or I can meet you for a dive. :)

Pinnacle dealers in Puget Sound?

I wanted to buy a Pinnacle Merino drysuit hood, and I'd pay retail if I could pick it up this weekend. Any dealers in our area? Thanks!

I've been thinking about going all web-2.0 wikipedia on it and setting up waypoints and divesite reviews public/private, etc, but for now its static content... wikifiying it is probably at least 6 months out... FWIW I think that a "master" dive site reference for our area would be a worth...

Volunteered at Edmonds UWP today

It was very different than my usual Pretty Fish Diving. There were 9 divers total, led by Bruce Higgins of course. 4 of us were from Moss Bay Dive Club, and I didn't catch info on the other divers. In the shallows we ran rope through about 700 lbs of cinder blocks. Two plastic barrels were clipped t...

As has been noted, if you're getting short fills it's your own fault. You should never leave a shop without putting a gauge on your own tank. I get fills at UWS Kirkland because it is very convenient. In a 3442 tank, I always get 3100-3200. I have seen them hook up (cool) tanks when I pick them up,...
