I think it is when you carry someone's gear for them, and provide tasty beverages in between dives. If you would like to experience it first hand I'm sure we can arrange something.

When my non-diver friend comes along I call him the Dive Sherpa.

We had a great dive this afternoon at Redondo, the highlight being (IMHO) seeing a juvenile mola mola. This was at about 30 fsw, near the bigger of Redondo's two sunken boats. Great dive today! Penelope found us an octo in the pilings at Cove 2. My first sighting, pretty neat.

Lynne (LCF) let me borrow her husband's DSS backplate/wing setup which is how I decided to kick my Ranger BCD to the curb.

Well, we did Redondo. Nice site, plenty to see on a return trip. Vis was 15-20 ft. Temp was 48-46F.
