I see you driving
'Round town with the dive gear on,
And I'm like HAIKU.

Re: Well, no diving for me.
That's why I'm glad it's on my left arm. General hygene will be much easier.
Keep me posted, Fishstiq! Sounds fun. It's not diving, but it's kind of close enough.. Sort of.

I really like the shot of the octo! His skin looks so soft.. But I'm not about to find out how soft. They have huge beaks.

Well, no diving for me.
Anytime soon, anyway. I'm having elbow surgery to reposition the ulnar nerve tomorrow morning. Long recovery time, but I think after the wound heals, I'll be able to go out. It's the nerve regeneration that's going to take a long time. No lifting over 2-3 lbs for a while, either and 100lbs of gear w...

Not sure if it would work here, but...
This is neat. Didn't look it up to see if it's real, or even effective, but the concept is different!

Re: Question about ear pressure AFTER diving
+a million. I told her when I went to see her that I am strange and to expect strange things. The good thing is, it's making her WANT to learn more about diving and diving medicine. She's an OD too, so she's already a little different.

Re: Question about ear pressure AFTER diving
It was pretty much gone yesterday. Used Zycam, anti-inflammatories, and my doc recommended antibiotics, I suspect she wasn't too sure what she was looking at. Couldn't get into any ENT in my area for 2 weeks. I don't plan on diving this weekend, just in case. Anybody need some shore support?

Re: Question about ear pressure AFTER diving
DAN told me to contact ENT, just like Doug said. It seems to be relieving itself slowly with the Zycam and constant equalization techniques. Once again, you guys are fantastic. If it does not clear completely by, say, 2pm, I will make an appointment with ENT. I like those articles. I agree that ever...

Re: Question about ear pressure AFTER diving
Agree with LCF. For self treatment I'd take an immediate dose of Afrin, and a couple of pseudofed (as long as you don't have personal contradictions). Then get some papaya enzyme (digestive section of vitamin store) and suck a couple every hour. If it doesn't start clearing up in 4-8 hours at this ...

Re: Question about ear pressure AFTER diving
Thanks Dusty. I've tried the q-tip on the outer canal this morning, before I was awake enough to realize it was an inner ear pressure feeling. Since I posted the last one, I can turn my head in different directions and it will get worse, then get back to where it was when I move my head back. I've n...

Question about ear pressure AFTER diving
Hey guys- I woke up this morning and my ears were a little uncomfortable, and I tried popping them gently throughout the day. No dice. The discomfort has gotten worse, to a point where I was watching Bones and Sweets was talking on the phone. They cut away to Bones (on the other end of the line) and...

I love you guys already!
:supz: I figured it was the urethane, but possibly a cleaner. I can't touch many cleaners/harsh chemicals without breaking out in some fashion. I asked Ron up at ADU, and he hadn't seen anything like it before, but didn't have any suggestions. It was mostly from my shins to my waist yesterday, and o...

Kill. Me.
Back from the store. Two huge bottles of Hydrocortisone and some benadryl. Lets hope this works! I wasn't wearing anything but my bathing suit under it. I get uncomfortably hot if I'm in ANYTHING over 55 or 60 degrees and can get unpleasantly sick, so I stuck with... Nothing. Under where my bathing ...

Drysuit reaction
Hey guys. Class has been going great, I think I'm in love! I have a problem. We went into the "dive pool" which is 12 feet deep last night. (We went in that one on Tuesday too, with no reaction...) We had drysuits on for the first time in class and will be using them again on the weekend f...

My favorite line..
"I have this thought that if there is something that attracts them there is obviously going to be something that they reject - maybe it would be Justin Bieber who knows. "

Re: Hellew!
Man, I tell ya... This wait for class to start is killing me. I've been spending time fishing at Heart Lake (Anacortes) with my instruction manual in my lap, but not much time to read! Caught a 4.75 lb rainbow on Thursday morning. I think I'm going to dive the lakes and pull old line and garbage. I ...

I actually don't drink. Or like beer. I used to... Oh boy. But I stopped after it stopped being fun, right about the time I turned 21.. Hmm.
And I suck at cooking. Anything. Except homemade macaroni and cheese with extra sharp cheddar. And Bacon.

Re: Hellew!
I picked up my Student package in Bellingham yesterday (doc said cleared to go!) and I start my certification with Ron on July 5th! I'll be in the pool 3-4 times a week up there until then. Anywhere I dive, there will be a bit of travel involved. I don't think there are any dive spots here! I'll def...

Boat cleaning in BC for sinking
There's a future reef that needs volunteers to help clean her up to prepare for sinking. Here's the text- Cleaning Help Needed for Annapolis Ship As many of you know, work is progressing well aboard the Annapolis, but there is still much to be done to prepare the ship for sinking in Howe Sound. Volu...

Re: Hellew!
Oh, and Alexitt- we don't get out and shoot much. We should. Powder scares the hell out of me. My brother likes powder.. And blowing things up. But he's a First Responder/Firefighter/EMT somethingorother and at least if he blows a limb off, he can stabilize himself until the others show up. Not a bi...
