Yes, Puget Sound King Crab are edible and they are AMAZINGLY delicious!

I had the same experience 20 some years ago in the San Juans. It was the best tasting crab I have ever had. Right out of the pot, it tasted like it had been basted in butter! If they ever open a season again, I'll be there.
