Re: The trip of a lifetime!

My wife and I are going next May with a group through TLSea, but on the Rocio Del Mar, not the Nautilus. A couple quick questions- What were the water temps like? I hear and read varying reports on what thickness wetsuit to take, some say we may want our drysuits. So what was the range of exposure s...

Hollis M-1 Frameless Mask $50

Like new Hollis M-1 Frameless Mask, thought this would fit my wife but it did not. She has only worn it on 3 to 4 dives. Bought from Leisure Pro for $90, save almost half, yours for only $50 cash.

Re: Sea of Cortez, Loreto, Baja California

Thanks for the info- we will definatly take your recommendations for dining. As for the Time Share sales people, we are used to dealing with them on other trips to Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean, so they really don't bother me that much. On past trips, when we had a non-diving day to kill, we have...

Re: Sea of Cortez, Loreto, Baja California

Where did you stay? My wife and I are going for 10 days in August, staying at La Mision and diving with Dolphin Dive Center. Glad to hear you had a good time with them, this will be our first trip to Loreto and the choices for dive shops are limited. Any recommendations for restaurants/excursions? W...

Re: D400 regulator and SmartCom advice needed

We bought ours from Bubbles Below in Woodinville, at the same time I bought the first of 3 SmartComs from him. It came with the SmartTrak software. I have read on-line that you can save money by buying a generic IR dongle from Frye's, Best Buy, etc., that the Uwatec one is the same, and since you al...

Re: D400 regulator and SmartCom advice needed

2) We seem to struggle connecting this computer to Smart Trek software, it just times out too fast trying to connect to the unit through IR port. Anyone had a difficult time with this and was able to resolve it? You might have to disable McAffee, if you have this as a security program on your compu...

Re: Magnification

I am suprised to hear people have had so much trouble with the Dive Optix magnifiers. I have had them in my mask for 2+ years and the haven't moved. They really help with reading my gauges. I wear contacts for vision correction while diving (nearly blind without them or my glasses), but needed a lit...

Re: Porthole Dive Charters closing up shop

I hate to hear this news, I know that Mike and his crew were doing everything they could to provide the best experience possible for the divers. We enjoyed diving with them in Neah Bay right after the Mark V got repaired the last time. I don't know how far south the Aluminator comes for pick-up, but...

Re: Hollis F-1 Fins

I am in the market for new fins to replace my XL Jets, and these look intriguing. My question to you that actually own or have used a pair is- What size fins (pocket) fit what size and type of overboot that you wear? My Jets just barely fit my size 9 DUI Rockboots. I recently bought new overboots- s...

now i'm curious if clipping the crotch strap first helps gather up material for smoother zipping... Maybe this needs to be split off into a separate thread/poll- "Which do you do first, the crotch strap or the zipper". With this group, I would add that we are only talking about DONNING yo...

Re: Inspiration for Jan, and a jewel for the rest of us

A coffee table book by Jan would be wonderful. I have a copy of the small book he put out a couple of years ago (signed by the author/photographer/artist of course!), and would be the first in line to preorder another book he puts out. Jan, are you out there? Your photos with the clever art work to ...

What photo gear are you using? P+S? DSLR? Lens options? Stobe package? Are you shooting manual settings? RAW? I just replaced my old camera due to a flood in the Philippines, and thanks to some overtime, was able to upgrade to a G10, and the housing should arrive tomorrow. I had always used the fact...

Re: My wife is leaving town for a couple of days!

Keith, are you still available to dive Saturday (09/19)? I dove with you once at TTN (about a year ago?), and had two great dives with you. If you are free on Saturday, we are looking for a fourth to go with us on our boat for a couple of dives off Vashon. Both dives will probably be KVI Towers, unl...
