I can't imagine the pain that Peter is going through right now. As someone who regularly dives with my wife, I just can't even fathom the pain and hurt. For those of you closer to him than I am, take care of him. Take care of each other.
Next time you are underwater, blow some bubbles for Lynne.

Re: Diver Death at Redondo
Thanks a ton for posting the story link. It sure makes this story even more personal for me. Not only did it have an impact from the perspective of helping one of those involved in the rescue/recovery shortly after it happened, but, now it has a personal impact on me after watching the KIRO story. I...

The Yellow House is also a bit pricey and is usually booked on weekends. You can still dive the Yellow House dive site, even if you don't stay there, if you ask the dive shop nicely and there isn't a class going on.

Re: Potlatch State Park
There is sand, and some more sand, and then you might see some sand. It is a really gently slope out to the buoys, then it drops pretty quick. When I last dove there, there were lots and lots of nudies to look at, including the largest Giant Nudibranch that I have ever seen, it was bigger than my li...

Great report Tom. I have to disagree with you on one point. Both times we have stayed at Golden Reef Inn, we have included the dinner with our package and have found that not only was the price great, but the food was even better. We were able to eat 3 entrees each evening and were able to let Gibby...

Re: AP journalist dives into Gulf, can see only oil
In my planning process for a dive trip in July I've been looking at everything I can find on Keys diving. This "story" fits right in with the rest. A combination of self-serving yap, hysteria, CYA lard and noise. By the time a guy is done reading it is hard to discover what is actually go...

Re: AP journalist dives into Gulf, can see only oil
I haven't done a ton of blue water diving, but, I would imagine that just dropping into an ocean 40 miles from the coast and in the middle of nowhere, that you are unlikely to see much, oil spill or not. Has anyone done dives like this before, without the oil of course, and seen lots of life? I woul...

Re: Redondo looks like a dumping ground
Redondo is my favorite site because it delivers the critters. An awful lot of that "trash" that people put down there encourages those critters to live there. According to the REEF Top 10 Stats Redondo ranks 6th in species diversity of all the Pacific Coast sites which include California ...

Well now I am even more confused about the H and the S Cockscomb... Greg Jensen has mentioned several times that there is some discussion about whether High Cockscombs and Slender Cockscombs are actually the same species or not. Apparently, current thinking in the science world is that they are act...

I'm thinking my fingers are going to be wrinkled for two weeks. My hands are finally pretty much back to normal, but, my feet are still peeling from my trip there over a month ago. 40 dives in 7 days will do that to you. I can't imagine what 2 weeks of diving would do. Have a great time! 40 dives i...
