Thank you guys for your help getting into my car! Couple of cups of coffee and a hot shower later, I feel fantastic :) Sarina, those chocolates were amazing!

Re: Possible dive on 4/27

It's not too shabby. My face is the only thing that really gets cold. I went today for a short dive and my gear configuration was about as screwed up as a football bat. I'll definitely be adjusting weight, buying different clips for my lights and a bungee for my compass and last but not least I need...

Oh yea, I'll be in a little red chevy aveo. it looks like a little red egg on wheels. I have the diver/army stickers on the back too so I shouldn't be too hard to spot :P

Re: Diving before Flying

Lol okay, I see. Yea they aren't the same dive shop. I remember driving by there several times though on the way to reef encounters and seeing them doing their discover scuba at the sea wall. Solid plan though. I think as a diver I would feel obligated to shake the hell out of you for going to Oki a...

Re: How do you transport your gear?

If the divider between the back of the hatchback and the rear seats folds down, think about using a Stanley tool trunk: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/productImages/300/ee/eef5ad13-66f8-47e8-b887-4985ffeaf335_300.jpg They come in two sizes, and we use the smaller one for transporting our stuff. Re: Diving before Flying

I don't suppose you're diving with doug bennett with reef encounters? If you are, tell him that Brandon Calkins says hi! Hopefully if you are he'll take you on the boat. That thing is awesome and he takes it out to the keramas. 100+ feet of vis and sea turtles and reef sharks. It's absolutely amazin...

Hey Josh, thanks for serving our country! Its funny, my brothers name is Josh and also in the military, haha! Anyways, are you the one that was mentioned in the Scuba Diving Magazine? Sorry my name is Brandon. Josh was the guy that I was going to do my DM under. I've since changed my mind on it tho...

I'm not sure if I'll be off work in time, but I'd like to tag along for the second dive if y'all don't mind a new face? You're not really a new face. I still remember you from our dive almost 2 years ago. Although, I don't dive the with the south sound group as much as I did 2 years ago. Welcome ba...

Re: Possible dive on 4/27

lol for sure! I'm not sure what my wife has planned. Regardless of what it is, I'm sure she welcomes the idea of me seeing the light of day instead of burying myself in the black hole that is my machine shop. I've made plans to hopefully do three tree tomorrow so I shouldn't be completely out of my ...

Re: Thursday 4/25 South Sound Dives

Okay. Well I'll see if maybe I can weasle out of work. I'm only new to the sound. I have a few dives at redondo but have a couple hundred elsewhere in warmer water...so in essence, I'm still a sound rookie

Re: Possible dive on 4/27

I was wondering if y'all mind me jumping on board with this? I have done quite a few dives at redondo as I go solo if I can't find a partner and I don't like going solo in unfamiliar places. Regardless of where it is, I haven't splashed for over a year. I just got back from afghanistan and got my ge...

Re: The end of my diving career

Thank you, Dennis.... As you can tell from looking at the dates, despite my attempted resignation I have decided to stay on as a NWDC Moderator. Not only did Calvin do his best to talk me out of it, but so very many kind and decent people went out of their way to ask me to stay and remain a part of...

Re: I got bent (NHZ)

I'm not too familiar with your computer but my buddy had an oceanic that was extremely aggressive compared to my suunto. I'm no tech diver either but during my master course my instructor taught me that if I ever break my time or depth limit or my computer throws a mandatory deco that I should ascen...

I'm going there for vacation when I get home. Any secret dive sites or suggestions on the better ones? If it were up to me I'd dive the whole island, but I'm sure my girl will want to go out and do more than just blow bubbles all day :( I'm crossing my fingers she falls in love with tropical diving ...

Re: Deep Fried Butter @ the Puyallup fair

I'm with dusty. Sometimes you just have to let your hair down and eat garbage! I eat veggies and white meat and run 30 miles a week, but when the fair comes to town, I will kill a few dough boys (elephant ears to you washington folk), and a huge basket of those greasy curly fries, smothered in that ...

Re: dive computer recomendations

I have a Suunto D4 and I have literally beat the hell out of it for about 3 years now. It was fairly inexpensive as far as dive computers are concerned. I think I paid $450 at the time. It's not rechargable but the battery lasts about a year. Probably more if you don't dive a lot. You're supposed to...
