Re: HOG Regulator Service Class
I got a response from Tacoma Scuba! For those of you interested in the class, please PM me what tech certification you have, which HOG regs you have and how many and what future Saturdays on your calendar will work. The class is $250 and will likely take up most of Saturday.

Re: HOG Regulator Service Class
Well, I'm being ignored I think. I've called Tacoma Scuba twice now and recieved no call back or email, so I can only assume there is no interest giving the class. I'm going to reach out to Hog directly and see what they say. The classes are not part of any HOG curriculum, they are taught through T...

HOG Regulator Service Class
I would like to take the day long class. I have my IANTD MOD1. I know Josh at Tacoma Scuba has offered it in the past with at least 3 people interested. I'm going to reach out to Tacoma Scuba, but I'm wondering if anyone else has other options or ideas.

Getting Hog regs serviced in the Puget Sound
I have a bunch of Hog D1, D2 and D3s tha all need servicing. A while ago, one shop said "We don't take that stuff from China" the other looked at my reg in my hand and said "We don't do those here" ... I was getting an o-ring ಠ_ಠ Has anyone tried sending their regs away to DRIS o...

" I never mention anything on the board because I don't want a lesson in liability and "higher fills shorten the life of the tank" rhetoric. " You've made me a bit paranoid now. To be absolutely clear: I am not suggesting that my tanks be overfilled or filled quickly. I do expect...

Re: A good fill in the Seattle area?
Thank you all for the recommendations. If short fills are becoming a consistent problem, start checking your tanks with a pressure checker before accepting them. Point out any short fills and ask that they be remedied before you pay for them. I generally check any tank I don't fill myself as a stand...

A good fill in the Seattle area?
Lately the shops around me have started to consistently give me really lazy fills. I'm dropping off the tanks to be filled over a 24 hour period, so I'm not asking for a rush fill. This is starting to frustrate me as I'm usually bringing in two HP100s that each have 800-1000PSI and getting 2900-3100...

Re: Sweet Smell of Redondo trip report
Hiya! I was great meeting all of you. Admittedly, I didn't know ThThTh was happening. So I have to apologize for the "oh-my-gosh you guys, the tide and the Redondo River!". In my defense, I was slightly hypothermic (leaky suit) and I hadn't eaten anything in 4 hours (wow, big mistake). I g...

Lost @ Redondo: Blue Dry Glove - SI Tech QCP ring
After a fun dive at Redondo yesterday, we drove up Marine View Dr for some food. After food I realized I left both of my dry gloves on the hood of my car. Incredibly, the left hand glove was still there. The right hand was gone. I drove back the way I came and looked around the parking lot without s...

Opalescent Squid Mating Aggregation
You remember those few days of incredible viz at the end of June? Yeah, me too. On one of those days I had the most amazing dive of my life so far. We started off at the entry point of Three Tree to head down to the tire reef. We we got down to about 30 fsw and did a double take. Not one but two Spi...

Found a very nice dive knife around 60ft by the dish. PM me with details if it's yours. I'll call the shops later to see if anyone has been looking for it.

Three Tree last night was actually nice. About 15-20ft regardless of depth. I mean, the water is still "chunky" with plankton, but the water was otherwise very nice.

You've saved me from a possible injury in the future. I had never thought of the grass as being dangerous. It makes complete sense, I just never stopped to think about it. So, thank you for educating me. I'm really sorry to hear about your knee. Hopefully your recovery will go better than expected.

I just wanted to say you guys are awesome for even considering a recovery. I dive with Mikiko and she takes great pictures with the help of that light. I was sad to hear she lost it on this dive. Even if the tides don't work out and you don't get a chance, you guys put a smile on my face for jumping...

Fabulous shot of the translucent shrimp on the piling! I keep trying to get a good picture of them, because the colors are so beautiful, but clearly the diopter makes a big difference. Where did you find the cockscomb? I've never seen one there, but maybe I'm not recognizing them when I see them. T...

Cove 2 03/04/13
Met up with a bunch of friends for a Monday dive at Cove 2. Empty parking lot was a bit surprising. Milky viz in the first 15 feet but then opened up to about 20 to 25 feet. Had two seals accompany us for much of the dive. Shrimp! Shrimp everywhere! And so many Cockscombs! I'm loving the crazy stuff...
