Fish ID help
Yaquina Bay (Newport, Oregon), Sunday March 25th, 20 ft depth, fish was about 5 inches long. I have seen a similar fish up in the kelp atop a submerged jetty wall last summer. Its brilliant turquoise colored eyes really stood out. There are whitespotted greenling in the area so I wonder if juveniles...

They were deep into holes. Must be nesting as they had rocks pulledup to block the hole partially. When you see the cracked red rock crab shells start looking into every hole in a wide area.

Netarts dive, Nov 20th
Did two dives at Netarts today. Water temp 46F, vis 2 ft. Tried the low tide and I didn't time it very well. Took the nearest tide station up at Barview (2:20pm) and figured I should add 15 minutes for Netarts. 6 ft of exchange going into the low, almost 5 ft after the low. Well, we ended up battlin...

Having sufficient air left over to deal with an emergency can save your life too. From experience, when someone goes out of air and you share your octo they are not calm and you amp up a bit too. The photo I uploaded ended up with lower res. Here is a smaller section with better detail. It sure looks similar to what you suggest.

White hydroid, jellyfish polyp or ???
Saw this last April at Netarts in around 25 fsw. At the time a friend thought this was maybe a hydroid but recently I came across a Jan K photo/illustration of a jellyfish polyp patch that has me wondering.
Any ideas?
