Re: Port Hardy in late August ...
The run up to Hardy isn't the problem, it's the run back down with a sideline to Winter Harbor thats the pain the rear.

Re: Port Hardy in late August ...
Sweet! That's so much easier. Not quite as entertaining as landing at Copalis beach, but still, much faster than driving logging roads.

Re: Port Hardy in late August ...
Bob, I'll send you an email. Do you know if hardy has an airstrip up there, or is it floats?

Re: bonaire Dec 5-13
I just got our flights and I can't get to Chicago for the price I got the tickets. :) This is one time it pays to get things early. We're completely excited about it, and Liz just explained the fastest and cheapest way to get the scooters down there if we want to take them. She's amazing. Love her t...

bonaire Dec 5-13
We've got a clutch of divers heading south for a winter respite. Leaving the 5 from Seattle, and departing Bonaire on the 13th. Some are bringing their scooters, and we are trying to get the necessary permits and approvals to dive the Windjammer off the north tip. Top of the mast is 60fsw, bottom of...

Re: Drysuit training
I can't begin to fathom that one. It's just common sense to do the orientation as part of the cost of the suit. But then again part of the sales process is learning if someone dove dry before. If they have, then they don't really need orientation. If they haven't it's an automatic "So let's get...

Re: Apr 22 or 23
Cindy is a great person for the Seattle side, and you are always welcome to dive with us for the western side. This weekend we will be out at Ft. Worden, and most likely Bainbridge on Sunday. We primarily dive Bainbridge, Rich Passage and Waterman, Hood Canal, Admiralty Inlet (Fort Worden, Flagler, ...

Re: If you've been eyeing those Points up in Admiralty Inlet...
I can concurr with your assessment. We live on Foulweather Bluff and I can vouch that Point no Point is not so interesting (lots of very clean rock) and if you go while is ripping along you can get tumbled very easily. It is novel to sit in the current with the scooter on high and realize you are go...

I've not had a bad experience with 99% of the Seattle DIR divers. We have something in common in the concept that we dive as much as our lives allow, and that we are thoughtful in how we approach a dive from beginning to end. From time to time a new kid on the block decides to be a bit more vocally ...

I don't know why someone would say OS suits are very good. It's been a fantastic suit! The seals have yet to be replaced after 80 dives, the only leak I had required a 1 minute fix on the surface and away I went. Hubby has one as well and he really likes it too. We've scrubbed around learning drysui...

It seems to depend on what you define as warm. I used one for a weekend and it was OK but the amount of air I had to add to the suit to keep me reasonably warm was insane. I've tried a variety of base layers and so far nothing has kept me at the toasty warm that everyone talks about. For example: I ...

Hansville is slowly getting power but we won't until after christmas. The lines went down on the access road and since there are only 6 homes fed by it we are stuck until all other major areas are served. We cut down the trees so we could get out and just drive over the lines as it's the only way in...

Hey Valerie. Last weekend was the most fun I've had in class in ages, and to think I picked up a few tricks too. When's the advanced First Aid for Marine Animals class? I'd like to sign up for it. You never know when you might come across a nekkid man on crack suffering from Alligator bites, or what...

Hi Terry! I'm from Kitsap as well, Hansville actually. Let me know if you want to hit the water. I've got classes this weekend at Pt. Townsend but the future has many days for fun and deviousness. Since you are a Sound Dive person we probably have a few mutual acquaintences and maybe even have met b...
