Re: Diving With Or Without A Weight Belt?
I was told by an instructor that your buoyancy is your lungs and tank right above your lungs; that being said, he said it didn’t make sense to have weights on my waist because they were out of position to compensate for my lungs and tank inline on your upper body. So recently I’ve been diving with m...

Re: Hello from Beaverton
Hi Reaper,
Welcome!
I'm also in PDX, I dive with the Oregon Scuba Club & FlyinV on occasion in Hood Canal & Puget Sound, always something spectacular to see and never a dull moment.
Hope to see you in the water.

Re: Rocket recovery divers
There must be a section at the top of the booster that’s dedicated to buoyancy otherwise I’m thinking they’d be recovering them from the bottom of the ocean. I wonder how they cap them after they remove all of the water, and if any of the divers still work for NASA.

Re: What Fins Do You Use & Why?
I was looking at the F-1’s on sale at Scuba Toys the other day. According to their website they only have two sizes to choose from, Regular & XX Large; I didn’t see a sizing chart so I went to the Hollis website. • Regular: 7-9 • XL: 10-12 • XXL: 13-15 I use Scuba Pro Twinjets but I would like t...

Re: Aluminum vs steel tanks
I thought the comment was a bit off base also; but if you’re walking the middle of the fence you can see his point. I do. I personally dive with steel. I have two HP 80’s that I love for shallower dives and a monster HP 120. Galvanized is the way to go in my opinion; nothing can get under the coatin...

You can also check out Justin Rochefort with Blue Element Scuba in Salem. He puts together quite a few dives (shore & boat) on the Oregon Coast.
