Re: Redondo produces yet again. This time....a DRAGON!

The first time I dove Redondo, I was the first in our group to get to the carousel boat.. needless to say, I had never heard of the effing skull that was on it. NOT what I was expecting on a night dive..

Re: What would I do if.....?

What's funny is the "sipping from the reg" practice in theory freaked me out the most, but in practice it was almost laughable at how easy it was.. I couldn't take my mask off without drinking water through my nose tho.. I had a hell of time with that one. A few times sitting in my hot tub...

Re: What would I do if.....?

Lynne, Just out of curiosity, if it doesn't reveal proprietary information, how will you be modifying the procedures you use in your class? When an AOW class only has 4 or 5 dives and 4 or 5 missions or goals to accomplish it doesn't leave a lot of time for actual training. It seems to me that if y...

Re: What would I do if.....?

Had the same question myself. Once you ascend, you don't just sink like that. Much as I hate random speculation: if a diver were to experience an arterial gas embolism during a rapid ascent, they might aspirate enough water to become negatively buoyant. Maybe. Or maybe something else happened. Or n...

Re: Diver Missing At Cove 2 (11am Today 2/19)

+1 I wanna go help. I just saw that they are suspending the search during the overnight hours on KOMO news. My thoughts and prayers are with the divers family. When I lived in Ohio many of the Search and Rescue Divers were volunteers who were divers first, and often worked other jobs. But it doesn't...

Re: question on frog kicking

+1 something I have found that helps me from getting sore is focusing more on adducting your calves with both feet in a 45 degree eversion and not focusing so much on plantar-flexion on the foot. Think of it as "clapping" the bottoms of your feet together. Practicing this on the floor just...

Re: Any active divers with Parkinson's?

+1. Another thing to think about is diving as part of a 3 person team. Reduce the stress load, increase the safety for you and your buddy. If diving is the thing you love, and it brings joy to your heart, do it as long as you can. I am quite sure you can find people who are willing, able and trained...

Re: Any active divers with Parkinson's?

I read this a few days ago and meant to get to it, but got caught up in other things.. I am not a doctor (yet) nor do I have PD, but a family member does and I had a few ideas/thoughts related to this before you had even posted it.. Have you considered a full faced-mask? in lieu of safety protocols,...

"dork" photo, dive boat upside down reg.. where'd it go?

someone please link that pic on this thread. I am in a dispute with a buddy that just because it's called a turret, it doesnt mean it needs to be upside down swinging hoses above your head.

Yuppp. That's what I have now with the atlas 660's with the liners.. 440's? I love 'em Sadly, from what I gather, northern divers went out of business. I was searching for them before I found my sitech system. This is all very interesting, and I'm actually curious as to why I haven't heard anyone me...
