crowdfunding: The Role of Human Factors in SCUBA Diving Inc

Just came upon this crowdfunding project to examine human factors in scuba incidents. I'd be interested to see these results! Gonna through some monies at this guy.

some sort of sculpin?

Do you know who this is (with a squid egg, I believe!)? I think it's in the sculpin family but I'm horrible at id'ing them.

Also, there are squid between Cove 1 and Cove 2. :)

Thanks!!!!

Re: FLORIDA!!!!! was awesome.

Yes, Chad was awesome and so was the seahorse! I want to get back to Florida if I can. I have met some friendly divers in the Seattle area, but usually my buddy and I have to make an effort to get people here to talk to us...I don't know, maybe we're funny looking or something!

FLORIDA!!!!! was awesome.

I would like to give a big shout out to pensacoladiver, who gave my friend and I a most fantastic introduction to Florida diving. He introduced us to a great dive shop that treated us well throughout our trip. He and his buddy took us on our first boat dive (and my buddy's first open water dive afte...

Re: Ft. Lauderdale early May advice needed!

Monday sounds great! My friend has to be at the conference for the first half of the day, so as long as it's later we should be able to do it! Are you a coffee drinker? I'm kicking myself now for not scheduling a longer trip. I totally forgot about the no fly time after diving when I booked my retur...

Re: Ft. Lauderdale early May advice needed!

Eeeeeep! Well that bit about the nurse sharks got me VERY excited! Also, 77F?!?!?!?! Oh I can't wait! THANK YOU for all the advice, and especially @pensacoladiver for the detailed dive sites. We are arriving Sat. May 5th in the evening, and leaving Sat May 12th in the morning. We're staying at the &...

Ft. Lauderdale early May advice needed!

Ok. I need some dive travel advice. My only "tourist" dive was in Iceland, (and that was a disaster because my drysuit flooded, I was over weighted, and they had 14 snorkelers in addition to 5 divers scheduled so things above water were a little disorganized), so I'm not really sure what t...

Re: Hello!

Thanks for the clear explanation regarding older aluminum tanks!

Regarding my latex seal: I have not been using talicum powder....

Also, thanks so much for help and offers of help! You folks sure are nice.

And yes, diving!

Re: Hello!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I did indeed get certified through PADI. I have a Mares IceFit for women with latex seals. Originally I thought of just getting new seals (though my wrists don't leak if I pull the seals a bit higher and leave part of my wrist exposed), but since the leaking from the nec...

Hello!

Just saying hi (and asking for advice!). I'm excited about this board and the possibility of meeting other divers! I'm a new diver, OW certified 2010, and immediately took AOW and Rescue classes because I didn't feel comfortable diving without an instructor. I'm a bit of a budget diver (years of bei...
