Eds Faults 12-8
Made it up to Eds Faults again with Macdiver. This was your 3rd trip up there now. The weather was lovely.A hail storm greeted us as we came in to anchor up. The 2 dives we did went fairly well exept for a Mikes leaky mask and lost knife. vis was only 10-20ft at best ,but was good enough for some goo...

Re: Yes, Virginia, there is diving in Oregon
What are the normal sea conditions for this time of year down there.
If I knew the weather would be good I would take my boat.
I would hate to make the drive and not dive if it turns bad.

I wish there were some good places to shoot 1000+yds over here on the west side but theres not. .338 Lapuas r...

Re: How's the viz in Hood Canal these days?
I can't speak for this week but the last few have been exellent.
With all this rain its probably not the best down in the south part.
if the site is close to a river there is a good chance it will suck.
It should be fine around the Pinnacle and Pulali Point.

Small fish in Lingcods mouth?
Seen something today i never seen before. There was a lingcod mid sized (3ft or so)with its mouth wide open. in it was a small fish about 2-3 inches long that looked alot like a baby ling. the big ling was not trying to eat it. it was still alive and didn't look hurt. was this some sort of cleaner f...

You know its cold outside when?
Your pressure in your tank goes up 50psi when you enter the water.
You know the game lets here them.

Re: Octo Harvesting: A question
I am not an expert so this is my thoughts. When your fishing you can not use a gaff to land you fish(puncture) .Nets are ok. Once in the boat you may kill the fish with a knife ( puncture ). What i'm thinking with octos is you can not puncture them under water. but once our out its ok. The thought i...

Re: History of octo protected status in Hood Canal? NHZ
The state closed the Hood Canal about 10 years ago because of the low oxygen and low fish count. soon after they closed marine areas 6-13 to all rockfish retention( hook and line ,and divers ). Do not get misled the Hood Canal has no special protection for GPO it is just a CLOSED fishery. look at th...

Re: Any recommendations on a Marine GPS unit?
For boat use you will want a fixed mount. you can still use a hand held but with a mount. the bigger the screen the better. you can get a gps chartplotter, or a combo unit that has a fishfinder to save space and money. for me i want a unit that supports detailed charts. it helps to find new and exis...

Made it up to Eds Fault today with Macdiver for a couple of dives. The water was perfect like glass with no wind. There were a couple of floats somebody left to mark the site so it was ez to find. The surface vis was exellent.you could see the bottom in 20ft of water. Its to bad the vis went to crap...
