Re: Wacky Wednesday West (WWW) - 10/9/13

Still stuck out in purgatory - Chicago. Just finished one trial and heading into another. Looks like I won't be back home until the end of the month. Miss you guys, and the pale ale and fish tacos.

Re: I need help with my dry gloves please

I've had mine since March. No issues with the cuffs. Then again, I have small hands and have the small rings. I don't know if larger rings would cause a problem. But again, they are similar in concept to the Diving Concepts system, and I have not heard of those causing cuff fatigue.

Re: I need help with my dry gloves please

This is probably taking this thread in the wrong direction, but I've also been using the UTD?Kubi glove system for several months, and couldn't be happier. I switched from the Glovelock QCP system because the rings are just too big. As someone else said, a real pain to get bungees over them, and I w...

Well, if we're going to make this the "my favorite taco truck" thread, then I highly recommend the one next to the Home Depot at Aurora and 116th. They have the best fish tacos I've ever had.

Ditto to what everyone else said - great day, great food, great company, and diving to boot. Who could ask for anything more? Thank you Penelope. I look forward to the next one.

Re: Stolen Dive Gear at Redondo today (4/21/13)

It's unfortunately becoming a serious problem. My wife and I have a place in Queen Anne, and the police have advised not to leave anything in cars parked on the street. It seems that the slugs are coming out of hibernation (no offense intended toward nudis) and are getting bolder about smash and gra...

Re: WTB Dry or Semi-Drysuit

My buddy has a Bare Nexgen that he wants to sell. It's a 3x, and he just lost a lot of weight so it's too big for him now. It's almost new, with less than 10 dives - he bought it last year and then lost the weight. He's asking $550.

Can someone identify this one for me?

I'm relatively new to cold water diving, and very new to cold water photography. I took a shot of this little critter near Race Rocks off of Victoria. I've searched through nudipixel, and think it might be a white tipped nudibranch, but I'm just not sure. I'd appreciate any ID help.

Re: Skills improvement and resources needed

I'll dive in, so to speak. The vast majority of my experience is in warm water with direct ascents. I have very little cold water/dry suit experience, and that is primarily in a quarry. My wife and I are starting to spend a lot more time at our place in Seattle (plan to retire there in a couple of y...

Re: Non current sensitive "off the beaten path" dive sites?

I'm no expert, but I recently dove Keystone Jetty and Rosario. If you don't mind a bit of a haul to Whidbey Island, both were very good dives and largely tide and current neutral - Keystone gets sporty if you wander past the jetty, but ther's plenty to see inboard of that. Keystone Jetty is most de...

Hey folks. I joined a while ago but haven't posted. Anyway, we're starting to spend a lot more time out here, and plan to be back quite a bit in F...

Late here also, but wanted to add my recommendation for the Mares Icon HD Net Ready. I've been using it for about a year and a half, both warm and cold, day and night, air and nitrox. Can't say enough good things about it. Easy to use and configure, big bright screen, great battery life - on a four ...

Suggestions for winter diving

My wife and I are planning to be in Seattle from Thanksgiving to just before Christmas. My PNW diving up to now has been limited to shallower dives in the Hood Canal area. I've been diving dry for a while, and my good buddy, who will be with us on this trip, finally got a dry suit this year, so we'r...
