Re: Cozumel in February
We ended up spending a week at the Villa in June 2020. We were the only people there but we loved the place. It is not any kind of a 5 star hotel if that is what you are expecting. The room was clean and nice and had what we needed and the setting on the ocean is beautiful. We played with an octopus...

I'm way out of my area of expertise, but doesn't that little beauty have horns? Do Reds have horns?

Re: Exploded 50cal
After a closer look I am sure that this cartridge did not explode. One of the signs we watch for while reloading is flattened primers. This primer is not flattened.

Yeah, that is of interest to us too. I suspect it started a lot earlier and hit a lot more people than the experts think.

My son had something similar in early-mid December. You realize that the official word is that it did not exist in the US at that point.

Re: Truth Aquatics Conception Boat Fire Tragedy
I probably should just drop this but I guess I'll go one more. I own a shop built in '77. No one has ever come in and told me to bring it up to code in any way. I live in a house built in '48. Once again, never had anyone tell me it needed code upgrades. We have over 30 rental houses, some built in ...

Re: Truth Aquatics Conception Boat Fire Tragedy
Try to imagine cars, buses, houses and business buildings not being grandfathered. The boats would not be upgraded they would be new. Very few would be willing to pay that cost.

If it ends the grandfather clause there will be no more commercial dive boats.

These are cycles. When I started diving in the mid 80's Keystone had sea urchins covering the rocks and had wolf eels.

I had corneal grafts in the mid 80's. I have always used contacts but know that I have to take them out if the eyes get too red.

please enlighten us. Sorry, that was not nice. In all seriousness though I don’t think I’ve ever noticed the milky residue. And now that we’re talking about this I realized there have been times when I soaked the whole kit and kaboodle (including weight harness and regulator) in the same tub. Hopef...

Re: Seasoft Fined For Dumping Lead, Arsenic
Do you use soft shot weights? I did many years ago and the corrosion off the lead was milky white and I assume it had a bunch of lead in it.Tangfish wrote:I’ve never noticed milky substances coming out of my weights, but please enlighten us.

Re: Seasoft Fined For Dumping Lead, Arsenic
That’s a good question, is the contamination just inherent in the use of soft weights in any capacity or a byproduct of the manufacturing process? (i.e., is it a one time thing or indefinite when it comes to soft weights?) I would switch to hard weights too if it’s continually bad, but if it happen...

Re: Seasoft Fined For Dumping Lead, Arsenic
How does arsenic get in lead shot? If it's just inherent in it, how is that allowed? As CaptnJack points out, that stuff was banned a long time ago. There shouldn't be any around. Soft weights for divers: They are ubiquitous, not just a Seasoft product. After using them awhile I noticed a milky exu...
