Re: I need a new host for my pictures ...
I vote Picasa/Picasaweb from Google. (NOT Google+ Photos)...no-frills storage, direct upload from most Andriod phones, excellent desktop software for managing photos and uploading them, a good web interface, and direct links you can customize to any size yourself. I use Picasaweb for all my web site...

Re: Craigslist deals
Luxfer AL50 in Renton for $30, last hydro date 9/1992. Seems like kind of a weird size tank, a bit big for a pony, small for a main and too aluminum for doubles. Looks like it's DOT-3AL, though, so probably no weird bad alloy issues. No affiliation. http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/spo/3610258223.h...

Vintage tanks, anyone? (not mine) http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/spo/3557742142.html
Aluminum is DOT-SP6498-3000 (iirc, scrap)
Large steel are DOT-3AA2250, believed to be LP65/72s
Small steel are DOT-3AA1880 "Healthways", believed to be LP38s?

Re: What's this second valve for?
Thanks for the info. I was looking at buying those tanks, Worthington LP108s at Discount Divers Supply on Westlake ($300/ea) and was curious about the weirdness. I have a 17cf pony setup so don't see myself using redundant first stages on the H. I guess I'll change the topic to, "Do you think W...

Re: What's this second valve for?
Interesting. So, would I run two first stages each with one second stage? Or do people diving H valves end up with 3 or more second stages?

Saw a pair of tanks for sale that look like they each have two valves. What's this setup used for?

Sent you a PM!
With the weight belt found, the dive objective changes to "go look at stuff underwater, and try and learn the landmarks at cove 2 better", if anyone's interested.

Lost a weight belt last Sunday 1/20 at Cove 2....
Lost my rental weight belt at Cove 2 last weekend (Sunday the 20th), with 4 red weights in it, total 20 lb. I don't really know what brand, unfortunately. I think the pouches are yellow. I lost it in about 60 fsw near a rock pile and some cinder blocks.
Don't suppose anyone's found it?

Re: Anyone for Cove 2 on Sunday? Help me find a weight belt.
Good point, I'll post that over in General. Although I probably want to go diving either way, and to try and find the same spot I lost it in, for learning purposes.

Anyone for Cove 2 on Sunday? [Weight belt found now yay!]
I lost my weight belt in about 60 fsw at Cove 2 last weekend, and really want to try and find it again this Sunday. My regular and backup buddies aren't around so I figured I'd see who's around here! I'd say I'm "intermediate" skill level, 20 dives under my belt in 6 months so far, AOW cer...

Re: So Monday 21JAN13 is a Holiday!
Are Federal holidays something people who don't work for the Government actually get? I think the last time I had MLK day free was when I was in college and the school shut down. My current employer offers Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas as the only paid days off. You're lucky!

Re: WTB: Used PADI Nitrox course materials
Thanks for the comments guys, I'll confirm their policy about hand-outs before I buy anything. (But anyone reading this, if you do have one, feel free to send me a note still.) I've seen a few places selling the set of tables, and the video, separately online for $4-10. The actual textbook, though, ...

Re: WTB: Used PADI Nitrox course materials
Yeah, I wanted to use it to get certified with... That's terribly annoying about the tear-out pages. From the Adventures in Diving textbook for specialties, I've been photocopying the tear-out pages and turning in the copies so the book stays nice. So yeah: intact preferred. Although I won't ask que...

WTB: Used PADI Nitrox course materials
I'm looking for a used crew pack for the PADI Nitrox specialty. The shop I frequent wants $70 for it, I'm finding new ones online from various places for about $50 + shipping.
It's three tables, a DVD, and a book. Surely someone has a set they're no longer using, and can offer it cheaper?

I was out at Cove 1 this morning doing cert dives for my Dry Suit specialty and it was awesome.
Didn't splash until about 10:30, so it probably wasn't me kicking up that particular cloud.

Laptop is still available, was pending for a couple days but the interested member has another commitment so it's back to availability. Adding: * Sony LocationFreeTV Streamer . It's a box about the size of a home router, maybe a little bigger. You plug your Composite, S-Video or HD Composite into it...
