Re: New Diver to Puget Sound

We're EXTREME! :)

Work makes it difficult for me to dive during the week too, so if you want to dive on the weekends, hit me up!

We're also planning a club dive/bbq on a weekend sometime soon, stay tuned!

Re: New Diver to Puget Sound

Our weekly dives are in the evening, usually meeting up at about 6:30 pm, so maybe they'll be doable? But yes, I would purchase a drysuit at the very least when you can. Expensive, but they're so worth it! Rental fees add up quickly. Check out the classifieds section here or Craigslist for used stuf...

Welcome to the board, and to warmer diving!

We have weekly dives in the north and south sound, keep your eye on the dive planning section to see what's up each week. You are welcome to join them.

Happy diving!

Nature is Lit

There's a subreddit called NatureIsFuckingLit that's pretty cool by itself, but today it has a fascinating gif of a fish eating a glow-pooping jellyfish and an octo that wants some love. Not that kind of love! And I DO NOT advocate touching the wildlife. But octos are delightful.

Enjoy!

Right? :)

Merino wool is machine washable. You can also technically machine dry it as well, but like most performance fabrics, it's best to line dry it. So it's not any worse than anything else in terms of work.

Re: Staying warm on a budget

Oof. Yeah, you're going to need a true undergarment eventually. I have a fairly thin USIA exotherm that might fit you that you can borrow (I think, I'll have to do some digging). That and your fleece layers might get you by for a while until you can save up for something better. Do you have any meri...

What type of drysuit do you have? Shell, neoprene, compressed neoprene?

And what size are you?

There's a derelict crab pot at Redondo. Y'all going tomorrow? From Tim Renz on FB: ATTN - Redondo Divers: I was out on the fishing pier at Redondo and I saw a derelict crab pot under the pier. I'm not diving right now, or else I'd go get it myself. It is on the south side of the T part of the pier. ...

Mr. Pants and I trekked to the wilds of Idaho and were fortunate enough to see totality. I have to say, it was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen, and I've seen some shit. :) If you have a chance to see the next one in seven years, go! It's a glorious thing to experience. Our photos weren't g...

Re: Large display wrist computers?

One of the issues is that my prescription is changing for the first time in decades, so until it stabilizes I don't want to keep getting multiple new lenses for regular eyes/diving eyes/mask/etc.. But yes, I very seriously considered that, and probably will when it does stabilize a bit more. But.......
